Over priced and under flavoured. We came on a Saturday afternoon looking forward to good authentic Mexican food. Honestly, if it weren't for the variety of salsas the food would have no flavour whatsoever. My husband and I had different dishes and they tasted the same.
The reviews saying this was authentic are either paid for their review or have been eating at Taco Bell for too long because THIS is not authentic.

Food is great - but their service is lacking. Lots of young staff that stand around and talk. Don’t even greet customers. Seem to not even want to be there. Some if the younger girls are rude when taking your order. Love going here but staff need better customer service training.
I had a wonderful experience at El Taco Loco! The food is bursting with authentic Mexican flavors, and every dish tasted fresh and well-prepared. The tacos were especially outstanding—juicy, well-seasoned, and served with perfectly balanced toppings.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and quick to serve, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant is clean, vibrant, and full of great energy.
If you love real Mexican food or want to try something new, El Taco Loco is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended! 🌮🔥

I went here back when it was on McLeod and it was incredible, I decided to go here again just the other week and honestly the food was a huge let down, quite bland if I'm being honest. The staff was awesome and the place looks nice and is clean.

I've been to the old location before. Definitely an upgrade. Service was great. Really enjoyed the Michelada, and the Mango Margarita was also very delicious. He started with appetizer of the anotjitos Papa Loca. It was very delicious. Both of us ordered tortilla soup, very tasty. I've ordered Mar y Tierra tacos, they were very delicious. My husband ordered the sopes, unfortunately he mentioned the chorizo didn't had a taste and the beef sope had to strong of a condiment. Definitely enjoyed everything else though. We will be back to try the Birria Tacos Loco!

I tried ordering with them an hour before close and they cancelled the order because they didnt want to deal with it that close to close. Bad move for a family run restaurant. When I tried to call about it they didnt answer, left a voicemail expressing my disappointment. No call back. I heard that this was a nice place to try. But clearly they're too good for my money especially with an hour which is plenty of time to make a couple tacos. So here we are.

We’ve been here a number of times and have definitely gone back due to the flavors and variety of salsas. We’ve been meaning to write a favorable review for awhile now, and when served by the friendly owner or his wife, would’ve continued our patronage, but due to our last visit, that review has now changed. Had we had more time, we probably would’ve asked to speak to the owner had he not been in the back cooking.
Unfortunately, to start, it seems we’ve had to forgive lukewarm food each time. Doesn’t mean the food doesn’t taste good, but we’ve always been confused why it’s never hot, and sometimes, it’s even been on the cooler side.
They offer 4 salsas: red (mild), green (medium), a smooth orange colored one ? (hot), and a chili oil (extremely hot) that are very tasty but may mess with your guts later, so user beware. (The levels of spice are not explained by wait staff or labeled at all). The salsas are now presented in refillable bottles, and you receive a very small “fry basket” of non-refillable corn chips.
The beans and rice are delicious, fish tacos are crispy but unfortunately lacking in sauce, so they lean on the dry side, (hence the use of the salsas to amp up the experience). We’ve also noticed a number of favorite items, like the empanadas, are no longer offered on the menu. Sadly, the molé sauce we had this most recent visit was too salty for our liking.
Now for our last experience:
Since the first time we visited a year or two ago, the food had always taken awhile to come out, and we’d always had to ask for chips and salsa to start. This time was no different, but our waitress did take extra long to even take our drink/food order. Disappointingly, we received the salsa bottles 1/8th full from the start, so, of course, we used the bottles up quite fast. When we asked for more, our waitress literally forgot to oblige, which was quite puzzling, as she was one of two waitresses barely working, but doing a great job at acting aloof. We had to ask for the salsa twice, and when she took our empty bottles, she returned to say they didn’t have anymore, despite there being fuller bottles on other empty tables. As we looked around befuddled, and ready to snatch bottles off other tables, she eventually offered. Bear in mind, this was early on a Saturday night.
The worst part of this experience was 100% the service. Throughout the meal, our curly-haired waitress seemed, frankly, annoyed to be serving us. She sauntered around the room with a frown on her face, until back behind the counter, where she and the other long haired waitress mainly loitered, sipped on drinks and joked around with the bartender, who looked barely old enough to be drinking herself. We frustratingly observed that we, and other customers, were hardly noticed or checked on.
I don’t like posting poor reviews, and I know good help is hard to find. But besides the food and atmosphere, service is a win or lose for a business. And this time, because of bad attitudes, we won’t be going back.
