I’ve been meaning to try Saffron Bistro for some time now, I wish I had done it much sooner. We ordered for pick up this evening, it was ready in under 30 minutes. The person who answered the phone was pleasant and really nice to interact with, and the person in store was lovely as well. We ordered beef korma, butter chicken, vegetable pakora, tandoori roti, and tandoori chicken momo. Everything was delicious, I have no notes on flavour, portion size, price, or service. We’ll be back.

The Saffron Bistro is a surprisingly delightful find tucked away in downtown Strathmore. The aromatic spices tantalize the senses and trigger a rather Pavlovian response. The people are friendly and glad to explain anything on the menu. And the menu, I love it! We had the difficult task of deciding amongst this blend of classic and unique with vegan and many gluten free options. The gluten free diners will love the selection. Finally not just salad for us. Some dishes are quite saucey and can be made Indian hot or dialed down to something even an IBS gut can handle. Even without the hot spices, these meals are absolutely delicious. I couldn't wait to go back so I did a week later and took a friend who raved about it too. I tried some thing new and once again I was impressed and totally satisfied with the generous portions and heavenly savoury flavours. I will be back, the people are lovely and I want them to succeed so that I can keep eating there, selfish and generous at the same time I know. So if you are looking for a new favourite spot to dine choose Saffron Bistro in Strathmore Alberta, you'll be ordering extra to take home. They are just a short drive from Calgary and well worth the cruise. What a wonderful find, spread the word.

I love this place! Tasty food, terrific service and pleasant environment. Low music so dinner conversation is easy. The flavours are unique, complimentary and beautifully auromatic. This is a must for a lovely dinner out. You will find yourself ordering extra just so you have a portion to take home, and the portions are plentiful. Numerous gluten free options. I haven’t dined in so I left service and atmosphere unrated but this food is SO good. I’ve eaten Indian food from a lot of different places in Edmonton and Calgary and I have to say this place tops it. The butter chicken is so creamy and flavourful, the chicken is cooked just right - soft and not chewy or dry. The pakora is crispy and flavourful. The chicken biryani is another really delicious dish that’s seasoned perfectly.
I’m excited to try many more items on this menu. Definitely recommended and will certainly be ordering more!!

From the moment you walk in you feel the warmth of this restaurant. My husband and I enjoy coming her for there lunch specials. You can pick between vegetarian or meat main courses and it comes with an appetizer, salad of the day and fresh nanny bread all for under $17 per person. Today i ordered the butter chicken special and per usual it was thick creamy and full of incredible flavor. Definitely a favorite for anyone. My husband chose the beef vindaloo. If you like something with a bit more of a kick this is definitely one you must try. It came out thick bright and bursting with spices. Let's just say he couldn't stop smiling with every bite. This has to be one of our favorite places to eat from strathmore to calgary. We are never disappointed when we come. The restaurant is always clean and the young lady who works here is always polite and prompt with checking in on you. If you like food with flavour and dimension leaving your entire family fully satisfied and happy. This is the place to EAT!
