Rnjoyed a really good lunch with friends at the Red Bird Diner. The atmosphere was nostalgic, reminding me of a diner from the 50's and 60's. The food was excellent as was the service. Will go again. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful meal at Red Bird today and my 5 year old had the deep fried ice cream for dessert. When we asked her if she liked it, she said “it made sll my icecream dreams come true!”

Stumbled on this lovely little diner by accident and very glad we did. The food was fantastic. The choices were amazing and the portions very generous. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars but I only gave 4 as they couldn't serve a decent pot of tea to an English woman! Lol. The tea was cold and weak. Needs to be boiling hot! (As most reading this will be coffee drinkers, consider it 5 stars.) deserts looked out of this world but we were too full to try one. Definitely would go back and might even enjoy a little drive out from Calgary to do so. Yum.

I’ve been here a few times and thought I’d bring my husband for his birthday. We ordered our food and about 30 minutes later told the server who had not checked in with us that whole time, that if it wasn’t started we would have to leave. She didnt come back to let us know but another lady plunked some fries in front of us and said snack on these. I believe they started cooking our lunch then as it arrived 10 minutes later. The specials came without the fries so I assume the fries we snacked on were then considered our order. Trouble is I heard someone in the back say where did my fries and gravy go and the response was I gave them away. So my meal was missing an order of fries in the end as what we received was certainly not the amount on another customers plate with the same order. They did take our drinks off the bill but sadly the experience on such a day left me very sad. We had even arrived well after 1 pm so the lunch rush was over. Now I don’t know if I should come back unless this was a one off. Hopefully this is a not the new normal. ☹️

Classic diner-feel with retro tunes, checkered floor and 50’s pictures. Smashed burgers with fresh lettuce and generous sides will leave you full until suppertime. Attentive service, with waitress checking on our table of four several times during our stay to ensure our comfort and satisfaction.
