Fireside Lounge & Wine Bar was an amazing find! The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed night out. Even though we didn’t try the wine, the cocktails were excellent and the food was even better. We shared a few small plates and everything was fresh, well-presented, and full of flavour. The service was friendly and professional, and the vibe was just right—chill but still upscale.

We came here for a weekend away. Betty was an amazing server and was very knowledgeable when it came to answering questions. I’m glad that I took her advice on what to get. It was one of the best service experiences I have had since before COVID. We will be back!

The staff is amazing, and I really want to say something nice about the food, but I can't. We had 3 meals in the restaurant. One dinner, one breakfast, one buffet. None of them tested good, mostly covered in oil or sauce. And just one side note, I believe they don't have changing tables in the mens bathroom, please correct me if this is wrong.Owner replied they have folding changing tables in the men's bathroom, my apologies.

Great food. Great atmosphere, thanks to Brad ( Paul)! You have to come here, if not for the fantastic food, the great view! Ask for Brad as he is an awesome, humorous server!

We liked this place so much, we went three times during our brief time in Waterton. The restaurant is right by the river for a scenic experience. We even got to see deer walk by, including two adorable and spunky fawn that bounced ahead of mom. The decor inside is nice. For the first dinner we had, Kenna was our waitress. She is good at her job and has a great personality. She was a bonus to the dining experience. Our second meal was breakfast. I loved my classic breakfast bowl. We went back the same day for dinner. All three meals were great! The only suggestion I have is for some staff (not anyone who waited on us) to slow down when clearing tables. During our two meals on 9/13, staff, in their haste, dropped glass items causing a loud crashing ruckus, shattering the ambiance. Bottom line, go eat here. The food and location are great!

I ordered a Caesar salad that was only lettuce Parmesan cheese and roasted garlic cloves no bacon or anchovies and the dressing tasted like it came out of a bottle. The burger was dry and tasteless. The short ribs were just okay because half of the meat was fat. The desert was fine but for $13.50 I would have expected something fantastic. When we got the bill I nearly choked. I realize they only have a few months to make their sales but if you want to charge that much then the food should taste a lot better than it did!!!

Dined at Chophouse while visiting Waterton. Service was excellent, the server was very friendly and engaging, and went out of her way to get some information for us. Meals were mostly very good, the short ribs were excellent, fall apart with a fork and some nice sides. The pasta was nice, done vey well with a good flavour. The Caesar salad was ok, the dressing did not seem to be made in house and needs to be reevaluated for an top restaurant.

We reserved a table at this restaurant to celebrate a special anniversary. The restaurant has a lovely view and the dining space is nicely decorated. However, it was not a good experience. The hostess seating us was rude and dismissive when we asked for a table that was open by the window. She wouldn’t seat us there and made us wait in the lobby for another window table. While we waited, and only a minute or so after the table was refused to us, they seated another party that had just arrived at that same table. Eventually, the manager-on-duty apologized and sorted out another table for us. Once we were finally seated, we ordered an appetizer and, after a fairly long wait, we were told they were out of it and we had to reorder. When our main courses arrived, they were nothing short of terrible. The food was not tasty and both plates were stone cold. The lobster tails had not been lifted from the shells before cooking and were so overcooked, the meat could not be extracted. Again, the manager sorted out one plate of cold food and sincerely apologized. They did provide us with a complimentary dessert after all of the hassle. Our server was excellent and the manager did his best, but the main issue was the quality of the food. If you dine there, I would suggest ordering some of their lighter fare rather than more complicated dishes. The kitchen does not seem to be able to handle them.

We stopped at the Lakeside Chophouse for dinner on Sunday afternoon. While all the tables on the patio with umbrellas were occupied, we were seated at a table with partial shade from the building. Within 20 minutes of being seated our table was mostly shaded and the sun was beating down on the umbrella tables from a Westerly angle. Being lakeside, the water and mountain views were magnificent. The food? Well, magnificent, as well. I had the Braised Short Ribs and my wife the Kung Pao Bowl with Chicken. The portions were huge. Boxes transported Sunday supper. The food was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Having had some CIA training, I am a tough critic of food prep and seasoning and these meals were second to none. While the prices seemed high, the portion sizes made them quite reasonable. The service was spot on. Definitely a gem in Waterton village.

Nice place with exstraordinary welxomming staff. We had some sushi and wine that was delicious. Brad made the visit perfect with his comments

Booked a month in advance for our 43rd Anniversary. Hostess told us there were no tables on the patio... even though we could see FOUR empty tables! I can only assume she was told to save the outdoor tables for groups of 4 or more. After pointing it out, she relented and let us grace their porch. Our waiter (Brad I think) was overly intrusive. He thought he was a comedian, but... he wasn't. Could dial it down a lot. Brie appetiser was yummy, as was the Tuna Poke bowl. The Venison Ossobucco was too dry to finish. Big disapointmenty. All in all, would not return.

Went out with family to celebrate a birthday over lunch. The restaurant was not very busy as we were there early in the week. Had my wife's elderly mother, wife's visiting brother & wife with us. We asked to be seated on the lakeside patio in the shade as our elderly mother was hot. The location seated at, was very very tight for 5 people and the mother was seated in the Sun. We juggled chairs later to put her in the shade. When ordering, our mother had trouble seeing the menu and the waitress was not helpful on ideas or meal descriptions. She settled on the Short Rib meal. When the meal arrived it was a single Rib the length of the entire platter. We had expected a rack of short ribs. Everyone ended up sharing her food on top of our own meals. We were not going home so leftovers were not an option. While the 'Short Rib' was absolutely delicious, the waitress should have been more helpful during the ordering process and told us that it was going to be HUGE, especially for an elderly lady(85yrs old). All of us were fairly thin and it was enough that the 2 men could have shared it and been full. The meals the wives ordered also had issues. The salad with Cajun chicken was ok, but the chicken was coated in a cheap liquid Cajun sauce and cooked. Ended up being very salty to the point they cut off the outer layer to eat. The chicken was slightly over cooked as well. Should have used an actual Cajun-Blacken spice rather than the cheap liquid one. The lettuce wrap came with a few tiny leaves of lettuce (rather than a larger half head like other places). The items for the lettuce wrap were chopped so large that you could place 1 item in the supplied lettuce and that was it. For the price spent, the meals were not worth the experience. If anything I would go back and only order the 'Short Rib' as it was easily the best meal, just be prepared to share it or take food home. It should be noted, that during the stay a slight updraft came off the lake and lifted 2 of the shade umbrellas up at nearby tables. One of the patrons caught his as it almost lifted completely out of the table. The other umbrella lifted from an empty table and slammed down on a neighbouring table directly in front of the patron sitting there. If it had gone another foot, it would have landed on her head/face. The hostess stated that the tables are not normally anchored and the service person that came to assist said there is no way to anchor the umbrellas - despite the hostess reaching under the tables to tighten the anchor screw 2 mins after he said that. The screw is used to hold the umbrellas. Overall, the experience was marred by the issues. Better quality service and cooking would have made it much nicer and safer. Next time we will eat at one of the local pubs as they were packed, a good indication of value.
