During breakfast They have someone who can't understand English enough to take simple orders at the drive through. It's been this way for some time.
There's an employee named Josh at the drive thru that has very good customer service. Just wanted to give him some recognition :)

Food was typical A&W fare. However, did not have frozen mugs available. One of the draws of dining in. No apologies, no accommodation. Very disappointed in this franchise approach.
Stopped at Westlock A&W on our way to Edmonton. Service was great, quick and prepared properly.

I was confused why the lady was not speaking English to her co-workers, thankfully she spoke English when serving the customers and seemed to have good relationships with the regulars.

REAL food. Awesome staff. Clean environment. Only complaint that my wife has is the HANDICAP PARKING. It’s on the wrong side of the ramp. Please move it back to where it was in 1999. And that would be the first spot along the front of the building on the north side.

The wait in the drive thru was horrible, the messed up the order, onion rings were cold, workers seemed stressed, other customers yelled into the drive the thru and backed our, A&W corporate should come back and retrain or haul in the owners for a Gordon Ramsey type session
After fueling up in Westlock, I was on the hunt for one more coffee before heading home on the last leg of my trip. With no big-name coffee spots along the main route, I decided to stop at A&W—and what a treat it turned out to be.
I ended up grabbing breakfast, not just coffee, and I’ve got to say—the hash brown came in a little basket, fresh and hot like it had just come out of the fryer. Nice touch!
A&W really goes out of its way to highlight Canadian ownership and locally sourced products. They even have a media board featuring local farmers and community-focused messaging.
The place was very clean, and the service was fast and friendly. I left with a good meal and a smile, heading home with farm-to-table vibes and a sense of Canadian pride. Great value also!
Just another small-town gem on this road trip.
