First of all, we would like to thank the 1 star reviews for making our decision on whether or not we were going to try the Diner for the first time or not. The return responses that the Diner gave to those rude keyboard cowboys made us laugh and we thought it was worth a try.The waitress was kind and regularly came to make sure we had all we needed. The atmosphere was laid back and fun with the jukebox playing in the background. The food was amazing. Cooked perfectly. My husband has found his new favorite burger. The kids menu was so cute (although we did not have the kids with us this time). We will definitely be going there again in the future.

Went here about a week ago.. We had a party of about 9 people.Service wasn't great. My gravy was luke warm..A guest in our party had burnt onion rings. A good waitress woul have never served them. My husband's steak was way over cooked..When we told the waitress she never apologized and said she would tell the kitchen..She never offered us a discount.. Very bad service.

This was an excellent place to stop for dinner! Waitress was friendly, offered good food suggestions and the food was great! We had the Cubano and the beef dip, both were excellent. Ceasar salad was also good! Would definitely stop next time we come through Whitecourt.

Food was S-tier even at 8pm and Madi did an amazing job as a waitress. I will definitely be returning here and recommend giving it a try to anyone considering it. Give her a raise, she deserves it!Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options

I had the bacon burger and potato bacon soup with a coffee. Great coffee. The soup was good. The burger had one small strip of bacon, the bun was alright. I was quite disappointed that the cheese was not real. They use kraft single style soy slices. My server was pleasant, she did get part of my order wrong but was quick to fix it.

Have eaten here twice before with minimal complaints but upon my last visit I left very disappointed in my dining experience. I had went out for lunch with a friend and my one year old, while most places have a “baby plate” if you ask I figured there would be no need to bring our own food for my little one. When we were ready to order I asked our server about a baby plate, she seemed very confused so I said, “how about just some mashed potatoes and some steamed vegetables like broccoli or even some cooked carrots?” she still seemed confused but put the order in nonetheless. When the food was brought out it was basically inedible for my little one, the mashed potatoes were absolutely drenched in melted butter and the broccoli had been cooked in soy sauce and seasoned with what looked like a lot of salt and pepper. I didn’t feel comfortable feeding my baby that much salt as babies don’t need salt at all in general so that ended up being a waste of money. I suppose I should have clarified for everything to be plain but I was under the impression that she understood it was for my baby and everything should be left plain. Like I said, maybe I should have specified so maybe that was on me; but I also would have appreciated if she could have clarified or double checked with the cook that it was to be a plate made for a baby so everything could have been prepared appropriately. Her service, however, was fair otherwise, my meal and my friend’s meal were both mediocre.

I received my order and tipped $5 and the driver began screaming at me that ‘wtf is $5 gonna do for me’ so once they left I called and asked to speak to the manager and when I finally got a hold of a manager they told me that next time they’ll just spit in my food

We were almost worried when reading the reviews...but the complaints about portion size are unfounded. Our plates were piled with food. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their meal. I had the Chilli cheese dog which was good... but I would recommend that you ask for the bun to be toasted first...as it was pretty soggy. Over all. We got a kick from the sign out side and the shirts hanging inside....Come on and give them a try... you got nothing to loose.... prices could use a bit of a scale back... but what do I know about running a business.... carry on

It’s a cool place! The food was incredible… but service was probably some of the worst I’ve had. We were on the road and didn’t have a lot of time to stop so we asked how long we’d have to wait for food. She pretty well lied straight to us and said there were no people waiting for food in front of us and it would take 10 mins to get our food. So we placed our order. 25 mins later we had seen about 4 other tables get food, and were still waiting. Then she brought our food to the wrong table, which is a fair mistake. She came by a minute later and apologized and said they were making the food and it would be ready in 2 mins. We waited another 10mins before she came back and said it was ready, but no food in hand and still took another 5 mins before she came with our food.All this to say, it wasn’t a huge deal that it was a little longer, but there were way too many specific guarantees she made to us that were complete lies. So the service could use some real work.However we will definitely be coming back because like I mentioned the food was absolutely incredible. We had 2 sandwiches and they were both packed with flavour and well sized portions! Keep up the great food ??
