This is a great and quite big coffee place. The coffee and their food is amazing. Nice environment to be with friend or casual study. Their food selection is limited but I guess that's also good. They also have some art displayed. Must recommend!!

I really like the atmosphere of this place there are high and low seats.. there are couches there are chairs there are tables and benches. It's so cute. But the service is awkward and i wish i could just have a machine take the order instead. Maybe it's a family-run business and they just don't care about trying to impress the customers because they aren't a ln outside corporation. maybe because it's Alaska they figure you walked in you must know what you want cuz it's coffee so just get it. but I'm not a coffee person and when I go into a place I like to be greeted with good morning or hello or how can I help you or something but the young girls just stare at you. they don't say anything it's like pulling teeth to get them to talk. They ask for your name but they don't even use it when they call out the drink..its so stupid to just call out hot chocolate.. it could be anyone. And i like the danishes! But they don't even ask if you want it warmed up. And they don't have the black straws. I really like how it feels in here but i don't like the workers. I don't see what's so hard about customer service in calm place like this. It shouldn't be hard to be thoughtful

I have been coming here for almost 2 years since I moved to Anchorage, and I have to comment on the progression since Jae the new general manager took over. The new crew she has trained are so genuine and helpful. The atmosphere is actually inviting now and I look forward to talking with the baristas. They have also started doing fun things like new specials that have unique flavors, samples of the sweets, and live music events. I'm so proud of the growth because Anchorage needs more places like this. I use to come here just because it was one of my only options for a cafe that I could work in, but now I find every excuse I can to come in. If I could rate it 10 stars I would!

It’s a coffee shop but feels like a restaurant and is super quiet. I don’t recommend bringing kids as the customers all looked at mine like they were an annoyance. Good coffee though.

Unbelievable, I've had amazing experiences at the Black Cup before but today everything was awful from service, the employee attitudes to a scolding hot drink that burnt my mouth and throat. Total lack of care from the employees today. Do better Black Cup or I definitely won't be back.
