Seriously THE best Americano coffee I EVER had. I’m not kidding. And such a loving and caring vibe and a warm and quirky cottage atmosphere. This is my number one go-to every time I visit Anchorage.

Best Americano I've had in my life, bought some of their beans to go fresh roasted and the quiche was awesome too. will be back.

My newest go to place for great coffee, tea, bagels, sandwiches, quiche and more! The prices are reasonable and the service is First Class. Don't let a line of people discourage you. I wasn't in line for more than 5 minutes. There is a small dining area.

We randomly dropped by for a light breakfast and lattes mid morning and loved this place! Small and very cozy, it had such a nostalgic vibe with an excellent drink menu. Wonderfully crafted latte selection and the service was excellent.
Would highly recommend for a quiet spot for breakfast!

After traveling for several weeks, we were looking for a healthy breakfast and Dark Horse hit the spot.
Fantastic yogurt, Granola with fresh fruit, great coffee and the staff were very friendly.
Will be our go to breakfast stop whilst in Anchorage for a few days.

Absolutely delicious coffee and food! Our highlight was the Quiche; normally restaurants manage to burn the outside but this one was perfectly cooked and tasted fresh.

One of our pet peeves is finding a place that can make a good cortado (espresso shot with a tiny amount of milk & foam, not a latte as most places seem to think). This place made it perfectly, no special instructions required!

Finally, try the rosemary brown sugar house made syrup! It’s delicious

New all time favorite in Anchorage

I had the best chai of my life! No exaggeration. The flavor was perfect and the foam was. . . luxuriant. (There's no better adjective.)

My husband ordered a dry cappuccino which he said was excellent. The best he'd had in years.

The cafe was eclectic and charming. The service was friendly and thoughtful. One of the servers, from the counter, noticed my husband searching online and brought over their wifi password without either of us asking.

I am sad that I won't be able to enjoy the Dark Horse Coffee Co. again on this vacation. That chai will be the standard for comparison in the future. 👍👍👍👍

Lovely little coffee shop, delicious latte and cappuccino which had a thick layer of foam! Quiche is large and delicious 😋 There is some seating inside and outside, and the specialty chocolate selection of Taza bars is incredible (and delicious). The staff are very friendly and you can see all of the care that goes into utilizing their small space!

Such rude attitude

I walked in with a small dog—just 4 pounds—and the hostess immediately responded in a very rude way, telling me I couldn’t be inside with the dog (who is a service animal). That’s understandable—some places aren’t dog-friendly and there are regulations as well. They had tables outside, so I asked if I could place an order and then sit there. Instead, the hostess—and then the barista who joined her—both kept repeating, in a rude tone, that I had to leave the restaurant with the dog (as it was a nuclear weapon not a small animal). One of them even suggested I leash the dog outside, which is absurd for a 4-pound dog. They’re never meant to be left like that.

What could the staff have done differently to be more customer-friendly? First, just be kind, polite and professional - especially if you're saying no. There's no reason to make the customer feel worse. Second, they could’ve taken my order outside so I could still enjoy the place and where my dog posed no harm to their space. Instead, I was met with such hostility that I won’t ever go back—even without the dog.

I kept walking and ended up finding a lovely food market with great coffee. Went in, placed an order, and sat outside enjoying the day—it was my birthday, by the way.

This place is just perfect.

The food is tasty, well plated and made with care.

The staff couldn't be any more nice, friendly and also helpful.

The atmosphere is awesome, great music, cozy and not so loud to be able to talk.

I went a couple of times while I was staying in anchorage both to meet friends and to work.

A place to always come back.
