Double Shovel is hands-down the best place in town if you love trying new cider flavors. Their lineup is always rotating, so there’s always something fresh and creative on tap. In the summer, they even have a weekly frozen cider flavor, which is the perfect treat on a warm day.
What makes this place even better is the community vibe. They frequently host markets featuring local creators and makers, which makes every visit feel like an event. On weekends, there’s usually a food truck parked out front, so you can grab a bite while enjoying your cider.
Whether you’re stopping by for after-work drinks or just hanging out with friends, Double Shovel has the perfect atmosphere—laid back, welcoming, and always full of good energy. It’s become one of my go-to spots in Anchorage, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Enjoyed the fantastic variety in ciders and some great conversation and recommendations from the team on Friday. The Forget-me-hopped, AK Apple, and Tropic Phantasy ciders were our favorites.

Absolutely love Double Shovel! I've loved the cider since I moved to Anchorage, but have recently discovered that going to their storefront is even better.

Some of the best ciders in Alaska and a nice patio to enjoy them on. Plus they make cider slushes which is just awesome! Totally recommend.

This is one of my all-time favorite cideries! I was living in Anchorage 9 years ago when Double Shovel first opened and I was SO happy to come back this summer and find them doing so well!
My husband and I went on a weekday recently and it was fairly empty, with plenty of seating inside and out. The first bartender listened so well to us talking about what kind of flavors we liked and she curated the perfect flight for us, also including a free sample of their blended ice drink!
My husband also bought a hat that he has been wearing almost every day.
The only food they had available when we were there were a few bags of chips, which we didn't purchase. Apparently they sometimes have food trucks but none were there at that time.

A craft cider bar. Its quite interesting. At least 10 different kind of cider available. Had one and its was fantastic. A chill modern place with an outdoor seating. Unfortunately no food there so make sure u eat before u go there. Bought a Tshirt for $25 and its looks great with a decent quality. A must visit for me. Even im not really a cider guy
