I’m an Anchorage local and this used to be a spot I frequented often. Over the last few years, though, the service has consistently gone downhill to the point where I now avoid it.

Last night I met friends here to see one of them off before they left the state. The bar wasn’t busy. After not having a server visit the table I was sitting at for about 15 minutes, I walked to the bar.

I stepped up to the bar, made direct eye contact with the bartender, and was clearly seen. Despite that, I stood there waiting for about 5 minutes while a casual conversation continued with someone who wasn’t even an employee and was behind the bar. No greeting. No acknowledgment. Not even a quick “I’ll be with you in a moment.”

What made this more frustrating is that this is not an isolated experience. I’ve noticed a pattern here over time. Certain patrons seem to be welcomed and helped immediately, while others are treated as an afterthought or ignored altogether. I’ve seen similar reviews from other customers describing the same kind of experience, which unfortunately confirms that this isn’t just my imagination.

I’m a business owner myself, and basic customer service doesn’t require much effort. Acknowledging someone’s presence is the bare minimum. When that consistently doesn’t happen, it leaves you wondering why.

The food is genuinely excellent, especially for a dive bar, and that’s the main reason this isn’t a one-star review. The kitchen clearly does its job well.

F Street Station seems to rely heavily on its long-standing reputation and status as a gathering place. That may carry it for some people, but it does not excuse front-of-house behavior that feels unwelcoming and selective. I’d love to see the service here become more consistent and respectful across the board.

Great dining place for a pilot. I like all the memorabilia and aviation related items in the restaurant. Nice big portions.

Very cool place, first come first serve basis, so plan to be a little aggressive when getting a table. Food, drinks and atmosphere make it all worth it.

Always been a favorite, and I think everyone knows it also. Great food and generous portions. Cooks are always friendly and coolest part you can watch them cook your food. Calamari and chicken Ceasar pasta salad is the best. Crab roll sandwich is yummy also!!!

F Street Station is a great place to get seafood in downtown Anchorage. I have found their Texas size halibut to be a good deal on fried halibut and is a good portion for one person. They have a good selection of drinks, but usually I go for the food rather than the drinks. They do dinner specials around 6pm sometimes, and there are often amazing options not usually on the menu. If you have a group of people, there are very limited seating options and tables are first come first served. I would not recommend more than 5 people if you're trying to sit together.

Fun little pub with tons of local charm. I had fried oysters, my wife had the halibut and chips. Both were excellent.
