This is not a "Cider House", this is a pizzaria that sells beer. There is not a SINGLE cider on the printed menu, instead I had to ask an employee if they even carried ciders. They carry at least one cider but could not tell me if it was local or where it came from. They don't currently offer cider flights, but said they recently ordered the glassware to offer that in the future. The atmosphere feels like a Dominoes instead of a craft cider establishment. My server/owner? spent most of the time on his cellphone, but it was pretty dead inside which could have been because it was a Wednesday night. Overall not impressed and would not recommend. I didn't order the food so I can't comment on that.
Great pizza, great cider, with friendly and attentive staff! All their pizzas look good, including pizza chefs who still toss dough. Ordered the beer cheese pizza, which was very delicious, although not quite the unique experience I had envisioned (basically, reindeer sausage, especially when in a larger dish, doesn't taste all that different from any other sausage...not bad at all, just worth keeping in mind). Ciders were also quite good with a diverse selection. Would be worth returning to explore the menu in the future.
Food was excellent! Pretty quick service but not super friendly wait staff. Would definitely recommend!
I stopped here for dinner on a Tuesday night and this place was really crowded. I had to wait about ten minutes to be seated but it was worth it. The pizza was delicious. The sauce had a spicy flavor which was enhanced by the volume of pepperonis on it. Service was good.
I ordered the lamb gyro and it was really awful. First, in a practically empty restaurant, it took 23 minutes for it to come out. It comes with pasta which was flavorless and was literally soaked/dripping in some kind of oil. The lamb in the gyro was very minimal and it was also bland. I'd ordered a side of tzatziki sauce and it was, again, bland and very watery. I only ate half of the gyro and hardly any of the pasta. So, I pretty much wasted $15. Maybe they have other items that are good but my experience was terrible and I don't recommend this restaurant.
BBQ wings. Beer cheese pizza on the left. Build your own pesto, blackened chicken, feta cheese, tomato, garlic and spinach on the right. If you like wood fired, you'll love this place. Probably shouldn't have paused to create the review. My only fixation at every pizza place like this, push the toppings closer to the edge. The crust here has excellent flavor, but I don't need that much of it without toppings. Probably is more difficult that it looks, considering I don't hand-make pizza. Next trip to Anchorage, this is on my destination to return.
The build your own pesto with blackened chicken, roasted garlic, tomato, spinach and feta pizza was a gourmet delight. Order the beer cheese pizza to taste the reindeer. The BBQ Wings are enough to make you fly. I'll never forget the forget me hopped cider and the grapefruit/lavender cider was a delicious blend. The service was friendly and very kind and on top of service even when it got busier. I highly recommend if you want delicious wood fired food, creative cider and friendly service.
Fat Ptarmigan has consistently been one of the best places in town to get pizza… Especially with their wood fired oven and crust recipe. Even though the founding chef has moved on, much of the appeal from his original recipes remains. And with the addition of the space-within-a-space Anchorage Cider House, there are more ways to enjoy this tasty spot downtown.
We were trying to find something to take back to the hotel. Placed our order online and picked it up. The pizza and salad were tasty and fresh!
Loooved this place. I have been working in Anchorage for almost 2 months and this is probably my favorite place I've been too. The interior is cool, the service was great and the food ?I was gonna settle for a cider and spinach and artichoke dip, but the dip was SO GOOD I knew I had to try a pizza too. Did not disappoint with the half reindeer sausage half classic pepperoni. Definitely recommend this place for good vibes and good food in downton Anchorage

The food was alright but I’ve definitely had better for cheaper. I arrived a little before 1pm and our food didn’t come out till 1:50, between that time our waiter didn’t check on us or let us know any updates about our food. The staffing was abundant but it didn’t look like they were doing much. They look very young and as though they don’t know what they’re doing. The food was too expensive and not good quality. I would choose to eat somewhere else if you’re looking for places to eat, don’t waste your money here.
Our server, Caitlin, was SOOOO helpful to us as tourists! She suggested where to go for dinner and we are looking forward to our reservations there! Super friendly, EXCELLENT food, and a great atmosphere!!! 10/10
Not crowded when we arrived so we placed our order salad and sandwich. People sat down after us and ordered a pizza - they got their food first. Salad nice and forget the reindeer sandwich- disappointed. Better off going to the street cart. Service not the best.
We had dinner here with friends last year. My wife and I shared salad, pizza and enjoyed cider again this year. Still a favorite. Great pizza.
Plain interior. Lots of pizza choices. And salads. Sandwiches too. I opted for the reindeer sausage sandwich, a new one on me. We don't get to eat reindeer back home in south Florida. I washed it down with a glass of stout. There is a limited beer selection. Reasonable prices. Pretty good service.
