Never heard of this place until this week. The person who brought us here told us what to get and only what to get. The Chicken, which was quite good.

We ordered the cheese pizza, a halibut entree, spaghetti and meatballs, antipasto salad and two of the chicken w/prosciutto, Caesar salad, apps were calamari and escargot.

Cheese pizza was greasy and great!

Halibut Entree was unique but not good

Spaghetti and Meatballs, 3 giant meatballs, on top of a massive bowl of noodles with good sauce. Meatballs good, just noodles overwhelmed and seemed to dry out fast.

Antipasto Salad(my order) was a decent built salad, however the pepperoncini were disappointing and quite frankly inedible. It was a bummer because that’s almost the best part of these salads! The de pitted olives were classy and the meat/cheese rolls were on point.

Calamari was inedible. Either expired or well I don’t know what else could have happened.

Escargot on point. Was delish

Chicken. I’m not a chicken breast fan but the sauce was amazing. Pasta accompanied the entree was lacking as the sauce was poured on the chicken letting some splash the pasta, as opposed to a mixture into the pasta. Sauce was great
just application could have been more widespread.

Caesar salad was not good. Presented okay, but lacked dressing and croutons tasted stale.

Our server was actually great. She first came off as grumpy, I asked how’s it going and it was “uh I don’t know yet it’s 4 and we have a line out the door. So we will see. Better get your order in now, or it might be waiting for a while.”

Then disappeared for 5-10 minutes as we quickly decided our meals based on the warning
as more and more people filtered in. After that, she was on point and awesome. Just initially was flustered-

Didn’t have any IPA so strike. (They were out but who has just one IPA option)

The atmosphere, old school building been around forever, bathroom up a flight of stairs, makes me feel like it might not be the cleanest dining location around but has that charm one way or another.

Overall, hole in the wall. I’d suggest getting there early or bar sitting. Locals swarm the place. Know what to order you won’t be let down.

We spent 2.5 hours here and it was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve had in Anchorage.

When we got there, only five people were ahead of us, but we still stood on our feet in line for an hour while half the restaurant had empty tables. By the time we were finally seated, we were starving. It then took 20 minutes just to get water and another 7 minutes before we could even order.

We ordered the cheese stuffed bread ($12), jalapeño poppers ($11), Caesar salad ($10), clam chowder, chicken Alfredo ($26), and the halibut almond crust pasta ($38).

The Caesar salad was very basic. The jalapeño poppers were just okay. The clam chowder wasnt good. The cheesy garlic bread was the only thing we liked. The chicken Alfredo was the blandest pasta I’ve ever had. Chicken looked boiled. Olive Garden would have been way better than this. We also weren’t allowed to order a side of marinara for the bread because the kitchen was “too busy”.

The halibut pasta had a very sweet, strange flavor and my husband knew he didn’t like it after one bite. When he asked to have it taken off the bill, the waitress questioned why he took a bite
which felt awkward and dumb. You have to taste something to know if you like it. We were polite about everything, but the communication from our server felt off.

Overall, the food was terrible for how expensive it was, the service was extremely slow, and the whole experience was frustrating. We definitely would not come back. Left us hungry and like we waisted our one date night after a long hard week of work. We’re pissed and wish we wouldve paid $0.

Read all the bad reviews about how their service is trash and read their rude unprofessional replies just to call ask a simple question and get hung up on way to prove everyone’s point 😂

Great italian food. Mozzarella sticks and ravioli were the stars, spaghetti and meatballs tasted great but we're a bit watery. I think the pasta didn't get strained properly. Expect long waits to get seated but once you finally get ordered the food comes quickly.
