We got takeout, i put it under my husband name and then went in and gave then my name. So my fault i had to wait longer for my order, but they had live zydeco, so I really enjoyed the wait. And the calamri and catfish remoulades were absolutely worth the wait. Next time we come to Anchorage we're definitely dining in and ordering big!

Excellent Cajun and Creole dishes, friendly and prompt service. I had the shrimp etouffé... perfectly spiced. Good craft beer selection as well.

Gumbo house is downtown Anchorage, genuine Cajun fare. Gumbo had ocra and filee, had fried ocra and several other classic Cajun dishes. We were there in afternoon, was surprised by lack of custom, food was quick and good. Seemed to be doing a good pickup business. Seems to be new to the area.

We had a great lunch here. Service was excellent, food was delicious, and the corn bread is a must if you are getting gumbo or jambalaya. Being located on 6th and think places like this gets missed which is unfortunate.
Try this place out.

I ordered a shrimp and oyster po boy. I was really disappointed. My sandwich only had 1 shrimp and 2 pieces of oyster and a lot of lettuce . I also got chicken gumbo it was ok. Not what I’m accustomed too. Not New Orleans. Other than my disappointment the service was great and the atmosphere was nice. They were busy.

With my parents being from southwest Louisiana, I can say I am true Cajun. Having said that, I know good Cajun food and this is it!!! Had the chicken gumbo, jambalaya and red beans and rice and ALL were authentic Cajun. We got the cups of each and the portions were huge. They even had Louisiana hot sauces! We recommend this to anyone that wants to taste true Louisiana food!

Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!

Amazing food, I had the jambalaya, which was serviced with a non alcoholic piña colada both were delicious, and complicated each other nicely.

I’m excited to go back again, the service was perfect because I wasn’t asked constantly about if my meal with good, or not. Which is an issue I see in American restaurants. But didn’t get bothered more than once so 5⭐️ for you there.

Well when I come back I’ll be trying the gumbo, so super excited!

By far the best Cajun food experience outside of Louisiana! I have been to many restaurants in search of the same food as Louisiana, it took traveling to Alaska to get that flavor experience again. Highly recommended!

Food was very bland and not worth the price…seasoning and marinades go a long way
