Cozy atmosphere, attentive workers, great music that fits the setting, tasty cocktails. Food as A1! This is what fresh seafood tastes like. My husband has surf and turf with crab. I have the smoked salmon pasta. We shared appetizers. So delicious, nothing disappointed. Thank you for a great experience!
This place sounds like it would be a fine dining experience by the name and the storefront; however, it is a surprisingly casual establishment. This worked in my favor because I had been hiking all day and still had my boots on. This place has close to fine dining prices though.We had the halibut and chips and the daily special which was blackened fresh halibut with rice and a strawberry salsa. The food was great overall though the daily special seemed somewhat lacking in flavor for the price of $50. The presentation was great as well as the textures, freshness, and portion size. I don’t think it was blackened enough maybe? The flavor was like strawberry scented air. The halibut and chips however was excellent. It’s hard to go wrong with fried food but the batter was on point.The service was also top notch. Our waitress was knowledgeable and timed her follow ups well. We did not wait an unreasonable amount of time on our food.The main downside is the layout. If you don’t have a reservation, they put you in a “walk in” table or the bar. They are right next to each other. I do not really ever want to wrap up my day in close proximity to drunk people. We had to share our walk in table with another couple who only stayed for drinks. They eventually started making out with each other at the table. The couple at the other walk in table across from me were so drunk they were spilling the menus on the floor. The walk in tables have six chairs each which don’t leave much elbow room, so it was an uncomfortable experience.Parking: There are a few metered parking spots on either side of the street in front of the restaurant. They are free on weekends and in the late evenings.

The mango Mojito, and pineapple margarita have such good flavor! I love that this restaurant has gluten-free options. Last night I had the ribs with coleslaw, and they were kind enough to sub the mac & cheese for the risotto. My husband loved his prime rib sandwich with the creole dip.  I also had the codfish tacos, which were a great appetizer! Awesome service, you could tell the staff all work together as a team.

A great evening with delicious food. Nice welcome from Ellie, awesome service from Mel, friendly interactions with Christine & Rome. The whole team really makes the experience at HQG wonderful. The ribeye was yummy, and the filet cooked perfectly.

All of the food was good. A bit overly priced for the regular food. However, I never been assaulted by the incredible flavors of the Mac and Cheese that they make. The Mac and Cheese is absolutely delicious and hearty.
Good and service was outstanding. Atmosphere perfect! A tad loud but if my hubby is able to hear me it's not that loud.??. Chef Alex you will be sorely missed! Congrats on your retirement.! It was a wonderful birthday dinner.

Dial oysters with the strawberry mint yet is one of my favorites in town, and the drinks are always really good and the service is always great, very attentive, and they seem to work together really good

My favorite spot in Anchorage. The food always tastes great - especially the Halibut when it's the catch special. The wait staff are kind, helpful, and prompt. Try the Girl Bread, it's one of a kind!
We had Calamari, Girls Bread, Fish Tacos and Ahi from the Appetizer menu. They were excellent as expected! We ordered the Blue Cheese Salad, Spicy Chicken Gnocchi and the Nightly Special- Rib Eye with Scallops from the Entree choices. The memorable flavors of each leave me wanting to return soon and thankful that I can. Always saving room for Dessert, we shared the Peanut Butter Pie with fresh coffee and took home the Molten Chocolate to enjoy later. It was a great evening shared with family and my favorite "servers" in Alaska! They are the best crew anywhere! Thank you Haute Quarter Grill for so many amazing meals and memories!

Very good food and service. Only complaint was that the tables (which we had to have instead of a booth)were looking directly into the kitchen through the large open door. Very distracting. Not at all what you want to celebrate a special occasion.

We had a great evening out with friends. Always enjoy seeing Ellie - professional with a bright, friendly greeting. Erin was great - friendly, professional, monitored our table efficiently, and fun to chat with throughout the evening. Nice to be greeted by different members of the HQG team like Mel & Christine throughout the evening. One of the things that helps make HQG such a wonderful place to spend an evening is the terrific team that works there. The surf & turf special was delicious, the Vesper to start was well made (as always!), the blue cheese salad hit all the right notes, the halibut special got rave reviews, & the fish tacos were tasty and light. Another wonderful evening!
