Hong Kong Spirit Food Reviews
Best Mongolian Beef in Anchorage Alaska and Best I have ever had great atmosphere wonderful friendly owners!! 😋
$20 got me 10 pieces of over cooked and flavorless Tso's. Worst Tso's I've ever had. And I'm not picky. Fried rice was overcooked as well and seems they don't believe in salt or seasoning. Don't waste your money.
Have tried the potsticker soup with noodles twice now—fantastic! The broth is so savory, and they make their own potstickers too.
Can’t wait to try dim sum on the weekends when they make that. Don’t be put off by the slightly strange location, it’s a hidden gem for sure.

Hong Kong Spirit Food is one of Anchorage's best restaurants, offering a delightful dining experience in a cozy atmosphere. The Beef Fried Rice is praised as the best, while the Simon Fried Rice stands out among fried rice dishes in the US. The Red Bean Paste Buns and General Tso Chicken are also excellent choices. The Fruit Tarts and Egg Custards come highly recommended as well.
First-time customers have been impressed by the family-run environment, the authentic flavors, and the lovely teas. The restaurant has a 10/10 rating, and diners are eager to explore the entire menu. The dim sum menu on weekends is a highlight, featuring items like chicken feet, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, and steamed Xiu mai. Since the process is labor-intensive, dim sum is only available on weekends. The BBQ steamed buns are delicious, and the pork belly is a favorite but tends to run out quickly, so arriving early is advised. Sticky rice in lotus leaf and custard tarts are also popular, often needing to be ordered ahead to ensure availability.
Customers have noted that the restaurant is small, with staff working hard to keep things running smoothly, even when they are understaffed. Service can be slow on weekends, especially when taking orders, but the friendly staff and good service make up for it. The Chinese sausage is a favorite, and the steamed rice rolls with shrimp are best enjoyed immediately. The baked Chinese BBQ pork rolls and flaky Custard Tart are noteworthy treats. The restaurant is clean and provides a relaxed environment perfect for gatherings with family and friends.
Overall, Hong Kong Spirit Food offers authentic, homemade dim sum and Chinese dishes that are worth the wait. It is a great place to enjoy a traditional dim sum experience in Anchorage, especially on weekends when many dishes are freshly made to order. The charming staff and delightful dining experience make it a hidden gem for foodies.
