Read reviews before our trip so had to visit. We got to Anchorage and picked up our Camper Jeep nearby then stopped by for a sliced loaf of sourdough and some cookies and bars for our camping trip! Today we are traveling home and stopped by before returning our jeep! We had a cinnamon roll with nuts, drip coffee, water and an Alaskan Fusion Panini (I think that’s what it was called) on sourdough! We also got lemon bars for the flights home! Everything is so fresh and delicious! I wish we had places like this in Central Florida! The girls that work here are very helpful with sharing what they like and suggest. There are only a few employees in there at a time so have patience! Must visit on your Alaskan adventure!!

We love this place for hearty make-your-own sandwiches! You can even try bread samples! They have pastries and drinks for sale, as well as whole bread loaves. Small seating area, single bathroom. It stays busy so be prepared for a line!

Not great. The cinnamon roll and ham and cheese sandwich were inedible. The bagels were not bagels, but they were good. It wasn't particularly clean or friendly.

I had forgotten all about this yummy little bakery/cafe. Stopped in with a friend and ran into 3 other friends! The tomato bisque soup was great, and the sandwiches were excellent too. I need to remember to go back.

The chicken avocado was terrible. Tasted like pickle juice and salt. Hardly any chicken and the avocado was indistinguishable in the mayo, pickle juice, salty mix.

I got a raspberry roll and it was the best pasrty I've had in a LONG time. Delicious! Excellent customer service also.

The food is hella delicious and every sandwich is freshly made. The hot chocolate is also super yummy and comes out at a good drinkable temperature.

The staff is alright maybe we got them at a bad day but they werent rude. Service was very fast

Ugh, I really want to like it but it's just another lackluster Anchorage eatery with a dingy atmosphere and poor service. Ordered half veggie sandwich and salad combo. Being the only person in there it felt like the order took way too long to come out. Bread was good, sandwich ingredients...decent but they put mayo on instead of cream cheese spread which is kinda gross when you're not expecting it. Salad looked great and fresh, loads of home made croutons but the pumpernickel ones could have broken my molar. I tried 3, each harder than the next and some I couldn't even chew. Vinaigrette was far too sweet and gooey. Tables and floor were dirty enough to think that they didn't even clean the night before. Went to wash my hands on the way out and surprise, no paper towels in the bathroom. Makes you irritated that you decided to tip at the register before even getting the lousy service and experience.

Dear House of Bread, I love you so much. I ordered DoorDash (so that means I wasn’t even getting their best) and the grilled cheese/tomato soup combo literally cured my depression. I added caramelized onions and they were tender and delicious. I think that soup may have been made by an angel. This was my first time ordering House of Bread, and it will be the first of MANY

I ate here when they first opened and thought it was fine, but coming back recently I really enjoyed it. The fireplace and seating is cozy and offers good options for conversation.

The bread tastes very home made and hearty, I had a bowl of their roasted pepper soup and thought it was really, really good. It comes with two pieces of whatever bread you'd like on the side--not just a piece cut into two reasonable, but two full pieces. All for under $10.

Seemed like a good price for a good meal.

The cinnamon rolls they had on display looked especially delicious, I just didn't have any room to try them!

Don’t waste money here at the main location
First photo is a half sandwich for $9.75….thats not even a half of a half
Second photo is from continental suburus hob location inside the dealership
$6.75 for a REAL half of a sandwich same sandwich notice the difference? I sure do

Worst bread I've ever had, gluten free doesn't mean nasty. No mayo added, no extra lettuce or tomato as requested. Styrofoam would taste better.

I order the half sandwich (Italian grinder) and cup of soup (chicken noodle).
Sandwich was pretty good. Just would’ve enjoyed it more with more meat. I think two slices of each meat would make it better.
The soup was good. I had one piece of chicken in it though. I was okay with that because I did want more of the broth anyway. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be impressed.
Both items had good flavor but did fall short.

I’ve been here three times and every time I think I must order poorly because it’s just not that good. 17$ for a mediocre half a sandwich and bowl of soup.
