I did not have a great experience. As I opened the door, a whiff of porta potty smelling air hit me and I should have left then. The workers were openly cussing. I ordered fried rice and received lo mein that had a worse quality than ramen and was extremely salty. The male workers made me feel uncomfortable with stares and calling me “sweetie”. I had to throw away my food, which has never happened before in my life but it was inedible. I hope this business renovates their space, has a meeting with their workers, and increases their quality of food inventory.

Parked at 6:30 on a Sunday and was rudely told they were already closed when we walked inside. Sign says 7. Internet says 7. CHANGE THE HOURS if you're gonna be $&#$ and not be open for your posted hours. Why post hours anyway??? Why not just open when it's convenient... Pathetic.

I love Hula Hands, but today was not their day! The rice was either yesterday rice or under cooked. The Kalbi was under cooked, the chicken was yesterday chicken and the lupulu was so soggy and tasted like water.1 cook and 1 server = not so good experience. The restaurant had space heaters and was too cold to stay to eat.

The friend rice was quite the experience! I got mine with extra protein, chicken and their sausage. It was sooo delicious.I doubt it was gluten free, but I would say that it was worth it!Server was amazing and on point!Remember, even if it is busy, just be patient and kind and you will enjoy your meal!

The Teriyaki Beef Fried rice was a religious experience. The chef was a deity and the server was psychic. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone. It was stupid busy when I stopped by and the service and food was still too tier.

Love this place!!! Definitely worth it. We get 4 plates for our family of 5 and always have enough for another meal. The meat is really tender and full of flavor.

My dinner at Hula Hands was an excellent experience. The staff were welcoming, the music was relaxing, the service was fast, and the food was delicious.I ordered the regular combo plate that came with rice, macaroni salad, and a choice of 2 proteins. I got double chicken and it was phenomenally juicy and flavorful. The portion sizes are generous and beyond fairly priced. I will be coming back here for sure!

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Anchorage. We haven't been in awhile because their listed hours say that the Fireweed location closes at 7. Turns out that this is wrong. The restaurant is open until 9. But no matter the hours, we won't go back to this location again. Tonight, our shoyu poke tasted faintly of perfume, half of the silverware was dirty, the extra plate we asked for was dirty, the extra rice was served in a bowl that felt like it was kept in a refrigerator-thus the rice was cold, the kalua pork was half fat and the restaurant was literally freezing. We and the other patrons were all wearing our coats while we ate. The good was the teriyaki chicken (it's called something else on the menu, but it's basically teriyaki chicken) and the wontons. We used to really enjoy the macaroni salad, but tonight it was all sticky and congealed, like the macaroni wasn't cooked in enough water. We didn't bring up any of these problems with the staff, as they were clearly doing their best. (Yes, this is a slam on the staff. Clearly they WERE doing their best, they are just incompetent.) If you have to eat here, and I'm not saying that you shouldn't - it's one of the cheapest restaurants in Anchorage! - but if you do choose Hula Hands- Fireweed, get take out until after the snow has melted. Or better yet, go to the location on the east side.Parking: Decent sized parking lot, but don't leave any valuables in sight. Lots and LOTS of homeless in this area. (Lots even by Anchorage standards)
