best food in alaska hands down i drove 4000 miles to move here and first place i ate at nice staff clean

My review of today’s lunch visit at Hula Hand located at Mountain View was very disappointing. We ordered the combo plate of teriyaki chicken, beef and kalua. The chicken placed on the bottom of the other chickens were burnt and dry. You can easily tell the difference between freshly cooked and old left over chickens. The kalua was definitely dried without any flavor. My disappointment with the quality of the food led me to post this review and lesson learned NOT to ever dine or order food from this restaurant.

Tasty and authentic Hawaiian food. Enormous portions. My combo plate had four chicken thighs and about a half pound of kalua pork along with rice and mac salad. All delicious. Warm service. Room is plain and drafty.

A family restaurant with a family environment. If its your first time then dine in and embrace the essence of something from the past that still exist today. The food will have you back and the love will keep Hula Hands here for years to come. She lays on hollow ground.

Got the sampler platter, was pretty good but halfway through, empty drinks for my whole table and all of us were eating with a dry mouth. The waitress that day never came back to ask us if we needed anything else even though the place is tiny and made it a point to never acknowledge us again when we tried to get her attention until we walked up front to pay, and barely acknowledged any of us like it was a burden to cash us out. I mean, we were blatantly ignored. I'm never one to pull the race card but dang, our group was mixed latino and caucasion and I've never felt that much palpable disdain from anybody I'm paying to patron their business. On the way out I noticed a pacific islander group come in and get the royal welcome so I'm sticking with the conclusion that if you're an islander, you're welcomed with a smile and attention but anybody else, stay out. The huge accumulation of black flies in the window was a pretty big turnoff, but even not as bad as the cold shoulder we got. Wont be going back again.
