Kingfisher has by far the best Frappuccino's and Chai teas in town. There customer service is extraordinary and they are fast and efficient. I highly recommend kingfisher to others.

Great coffee (Black Cup beans) and creative barristas. I usually get an Americano, which accentuates the coffee flavor, or a tan mocha. Sometimes I don't know what I want and like the barrista to surprise me. These ladies are always up to the challenge. One of my favorites was a dirty chai (I think) with espresso in it. Great dog treats, to boot!

I found this place by accident while driving along Spenard Rd. earlier today. Kingfisher Coffee is a coffee hut that occupies the original Out of the Box location on Spenard between Minnesota and the railroad tracks. The place can be tricky to spot as you're driving by. I know that I have passed this place several times before remembering to slow down after passing the Thai restaurant down the street. A small wood-carved sign with the name is propped up by the side of the road, but it is still very hard to spot with a casual glance. There is now a bigger blue sign with a directional arrow that makes it easier to find as you're approaching the hut. The establishment is run by the owner and her daughter, very friendly people and easy to converse with. It turns out that one of their regular customers made the wood-carved sign by the road, a kind gesture to notify more people about their business. When that was still hard for drivers to spot, her daughter made the larger, more noticeable blue sign that reads "With coffee, anything is possible!" I took a minute to look over the menu. The menu is fairly simple with your standard choices of mochas, lattes, breves, and Americanos among others along with food items like breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, and pastries. I decided to keep it simple and went with a 16oz. Iced Americano with sugar-free caramel and heavy cream which was suggested by the owner. The Iced Americano was very refreshing with the heavy cream a welcome addition to make it one of the best coffee drinks I've had recently. They also provide punch cards with the business logo and a free drink on the 10th purchase. They also have a Facebook page where they will post notices for customers periodically. A nice family like this deserves to get some notice here on Yelp.
