I don’t write reviews very often any more but I had to do one for this place because it was so good! We shared the agedashi tofu, vegetable tempura and the chicken teriyaki bento box. The tofu was delicately fried with a delicious broth. The veggie tempura had a lovely delicate batter and dipping sauce was perfect. The bento box was overflowing with food: chicken on top of stir fried cabbage, rice, 4 California rolls, a salad and a tempura of both vegetables and 2 pieces of shrimp- all for $18. Food in anchorage seems pretty expensive so this place seems like a bargain in price but really excellent value and delicious food! I would recommend this place highly!

I ordered a poke bowl (Tuna Poki $20) and was surprised when it came out. There's no rice...even though it's a rice bowl. Instead, shredded daikon radish was laid out. What's more, it's extremely spicy, so you'll definitely want some rice with it. I felt sick because it was so obvious that he was trying to get me to order sushi or something else. The house salad ($7) was also just lettuce with only a small amount of chopped broccoli. I wonder if they're having a hard time managing the business...but if they remove the rice from the rice bowls, it'll be no good!! ️ It seemed like I was being shown a glimpse of today's greedy American society, and it made me want to go back to Japan as soon as possible. The saving grace was that the customer service girl was very friendly.

I picked up some takeout…spicy, tuna, and chicken fried rice with extra vegetables. The fried rice was not fried, but rather steamed and there was just too much of it. Overall, it was very bland and I would not recommend that dish. The tuna was satisfactory. If you’re looking for something quick and affordable, this is a fantastic place, but don’t expect exceptionalism.

Best sushi I’ve had in a long time! Service is fantastic and the owner offered lots of suggestions and we loved everything we got. King salmon blew my mind and my favorite appetizer is the baby octopus. Can’t recommend this place enough. Also had the ramen the second time I went there and it did not disappoint. 10/10

Kumagoro Sushi in downtown Anchorage was a great choice for dinner for my family! We ordered appetizers (baby octopus and ikura rice ball) 2x Shoyu Ramen (highly recommended!), Las Vegas roll (deep fried and my daughter's favorite), AK Samurai roll, and the spicy Heart Attack roll (deep fried), and dessert (deep fried oreos and chocolate Haagen Daz ice cream). Everything was delicious and was exactly what we were craving. I'll order from here again! ???
