First time visiting Mandala in Anchorage, Alaska. Food and service were impeccable. We ordered the Buttered Chicken and the Garlic Naan, not a single grain of rice or drop of sauce was left! We will definitely be visiting again, soon!
Beautiful restaurant and AMAZING FOOD! Highly recommend
Top notch place! A real mom and pop shop. I had butter chicken and naan.
Dietary restrictions: They know everything that goes into their food and are accommodating.

I’ve lived and traveled in India extensively, and visited Nepal. This is a very legitimate, authentic restaurant. It’s a family place so the dishes can take a while if it’s crowded, but if you have a deadline let them know before you order and they will help steer you away from things that take longer to make. The momos here are exactly how they taste in Nepal, and are better than what you get in India. Samosas are excellent, and the Malai Kofta was as well. Please support this place because we need it in Anchorage. I’ll be back to try more.

The food was fantastic. Subtle spices combine to give a lasting flavor of the Himalayan range and Northern India.
The butter chicken was tender and plentiful while the nan was light and crispy. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to Anchorage. Namaste 🙏

Excellent food and hospitality. The food was authentic and tasted great. Try their Papdi Chat which was one of the best we had in a long time. Highly recommended.
Vegetarian options: Chats were amazing!

Service- incredibly SLOW. We waited 40 minutes. A family that came in a good 20-30 minutes after us got their food at the same time we did. Not looking good folks. They said they didn't have naan today, which is pretty bad for an Indian -Nepalese restaurant. Instead they offered roti- a whole wheat & yogurt flatbread- at $5/2. But what arrived was dense, flavorless sauteed flour tortillas. Disingenuous, lazy and disappointing. The Baigan (eggplant) and the thakali paneer curry were flavorful but small portions especially at the Anchorage price point.
The chai was rough but as long as we waited for our meal (drinking 3 pints of water while waiting) it would have been nice to at least be offered a refill.
I wouldn't go back.
Vegetarian options: The eggplant was very tasty... when it finally arrived.

This is an amazing gem I tried in Anchorage. It was the first time I was trying Nepali cuisine and it was yum. Ambience was beautiful and had nice Mandala arts.
I would definitely recommend Thakali Paneer curry. It was nice blend of spices and flavor.
I have tried Malai Kofta at many places in US and this turned out to be so good compared to all. The texture, softness, flavors of Kofta was so nice and one can taste cashews and raisins.
The service was little slow because of staff shortage. But they prepared everything fresh after being ordered.
The owner/chef and his father were very accommodating and checking in personally about taste and service.
Highly recommend!

This is one of the best restaurants we came across. Great ambience, hospitality and delicious food. Amazing blending of spices would satisfy your appetite. We tried chicken dopiaza, shrimp dopiaza. I would give lamb dopiaza five star. I have tried so many lamb dishes elsewhere but never came across lamb dish like this. If you are someone who does not like raw smell of lamb / goat which is common In other restaurants, this restaurant will be for you then. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Every food is freshly made.
