The food here is amazing. Came with a group of friends. We all enjoyed our food. The food is authentic, full flavor, and the best Indian food that I have ever had. Sanjay, you are rocking it. I will definitely be back with my daughter.

Went on a Friday night. Busy night. Took fourty plus minutes to get seated with dirty tables available that hadn't been turned over. Should've taken that as a cue. Took another twenty minutes just to get our order in. After twenty more minutes we cancelled our orders after the appetizer finally came out. Overall might try again but turned off by the whole experience.

If I could legally add the word MAGIC in front of Mandala Restaurant I would do so in a heartbeat. Beyond blown away from the flavours and the curation of art and experience in this restaurant. My bestie and I originally met in India and tasting this food immediately transported us into another hemisphere across the world just by our tastebuds. Never will I forget the entertainment found with the mushroom lamps and the cozy atmosphere from the warm curry in my belly. This place is top tier! As a visitor from Honolulu visiting in the middle of winter -20°F this place warmed up my entire mind body and spirit. Cannot wait to tell my friends and family to come back again :)

First, two dishes were an absolute 10! The chicken tikka delicious! The vegetarian alu gobi tarkari delectable! So good, maybe the BEST we've had. The matar paneer okay. The garlic naan nice. Pass on the vegetable samosas (except we did like the two little bowls of sauce that accompanied them), and we tried the masala papad, which we've never had before and will never order again. The two stellar dishes got us to three stars. The ambiance was good. It was the service. Yikes. The restaurant was 90% full, a Saturday night. We sat down at 6 p.m., we were (finally) able to give our order at 6:15 p.m. We got our food at about 8 p.m. Took another lifetime to pay the bill. (Restaurant patrons were commenting on the wait amongst each other, but no one got angry.) The waiter was, well, let's say eccentric and frazzled. I feel like there must be a story as to how he is (dis)connected to the owner and the chef. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for the chicken tikka and alu gobi, and try a new dish, but bring people who you like to talk with for a couple hours. Or maybe this was just a really off night, service wise. Still dreaming of all gobi tarkari.

This is the best Indian (Nepalese) food in town. The naan is amazing, and the momo (pot stickers) were the all-star! All of our dishes were hot and fresh, made to order, and delicious.

I am a Butter Chicken snob and this is the best I have had in Anchorage. the waiter was excellent also. He made us feel like we were in an upscale/high end restaurant. Everything is made to order so you wait a bit for the food but it is all worth it. even the Naan is made to order and made to perfection.

Insane. Todays experience was probably top 3 worst dining experiences I've ever had. We came in about 15 minutes after opening and there were approximately 4 others seated already. We brought our 1 year old so needed a high chair. The server asked if the table by the door was ok but I had asked to be seated at the back. He was visibly agitated, rolled his eyes and took off( without us) to the back of the restaurant. What a jerk. I asked him if there was an issue and he simply said it was awkward to get a high chair at the back. It wasn't. Against our better judgement we decided to stay and nearly TWO HOURS LATER, our food came out... The food was under seasoned and curry was cold?!?!? WTH??? The rice was undercooked and the portions were tiny. Then the server told us that the cook burned 4 orders of naan and ours would be out "soon." In the meantime the server/waiter is arguing with the other worker telling him that "he should have listened because he had already told him 4 times" and also told the entire restaurant that momos only get made once a week... Everyone at this establishment should get replaced. Im appalled at the "service" and the cook obviously didn't know how to run the back if it took 2 hours to serve 5 tables. The owner clearly spent some money to make it feel like a fine dining experience but everything but the decor was a joke tonight

From the naan to the chicken tika marsala, wonderful food in a nice environment, with good service. A real pleasure.

The buttered chicken and tika masala is the perfect mixture of creamy, flavorful spices. You can order it with rice or naan but I could drink cupfuls of that stuff. The service was so friendly. We ordered take out and it came at the exact time we ordered for.

Best Indian restaurant in Anchorage. Just loved the food, very authentic Indian taste and very hospitable owner. Will definitely return soon.

I have been wanting to come for two years, and we finally made it happen last night! I have eaten at every Indian restaurant in Anchorage, and many elsewhere, including in India on the border of Nepal. Mandala is top tier. We took some family members who are not at all familiar with the cuisine, and I ordered many different dishes to share. They loved everything!! The chef came out to check on and talk to us several times, which is always such a special experience. We ordered mango lassis, chicken momos, samosas, pakodas, butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, chicken tikka, a mass of different naan, and a lamb dish I can't quite remember the name of. Everything was phenomenal. We will be back!!

The food was delicious and made to order. The prices were good for the amount, care and flavors of the curries and the naan was fresh and warm. The chef was so kind and came out to tell us about each dish and we loved how relaxing it was to dine and not feel rushed. We will definitely be coming back. Great date place!

To start, they don’t take American Express. I understand that Amex charges more for a business to process the charge. But this is just an inconvenience.Second, portions are small and underwhelming. For two orders of curry, and two orders of naan, that was over 50$ plus tip.Third, my food was lukewarm- and I showed up during the time parameters of calling and picking up.Fourth, the food itself is pretty decent. However after all factors listed above, I will not be retuning.
