I was so excited to return here after being in the lower 48 for over a decade. I just moved back and happened to be in A-town so i thought i would stop by to see if it was still as good as I remembered. Sadly, it is not.
I got the same thing I always do for takeout: Grilled halibut and white rice. I remembered it being a generous portion and juicy, tender and just perfectly cooked EVERY TIME! This time the halibut i got was bone dry and so small. It was so dissapointing especially for the price. This place used to be so good. Now its a hard pass for me. ?

Stopped here on our last day in Anchorage definitely wish we had stopped sooner. Food was excellent fresh and prepared to order. The halibut was tender moist and lightly seasoned. The Cajun chicken left nothing to wish for. Sides of okra excellent as well as the homemade tarter sauce. Clean and great atmosphere.

I was disappointed. Momma O's has been a favorite for many years. Ownership changed. The prices have risen and the portions have gotten smaller. The Catfish was sad. It was sliced paper thin, there was no Catfish. It was not worth the money. It's fair to say their Grilled Halibut with Teriyaki Rice was good. But again, the portions have gotten smaller for the price. We were spoiled back in the day.

Great service. Combo plates were loaded with food. Huge shrimp, crispy fried cod, clam strips, & fries. Husband had oysters instead of clams and they were very good. This seems like a place “where locals eat” which was exactly what we were looking for.
