We were here on a dreary Sunday and lunch was absolutely uplifting! Sorry we ate too fast so missed taking photos. I had DELICIOUS seafood chowder—the perfect ratio of clams, salmon, celery and potatoes and seasoned perfectly. My husband had a salmon bowl and was impressed with the varieties in it. The restaurant is immaculate, the service is friendly and quick—we highly recommend this great Muse!

I’m really really sad because I loved MUSE. I’ve been here a lot in the past and it was such a fun experience to order food check out the wine list and enjoy the live music before you head in and enjoy the art exhibits.

Today 8/1/25 we went in for First Friday expecting to experience all that is supposed to be fantastic and fabulous only to pay $55.00 for a buffet with hair in the food a very limited wine list, bar flys, garbage cans full of trash, bugs on the floor and dirty chairs we had to clean before we sat down. A untuned piano that the lovely musician was trying to play off like it was in tune. Mind you this was all at 4:30 pm before it even got busy for first Friday.

All in all I’m sad because I love this place so much. I’ve had birthdays here and entertained guests from out of town here but I will not be returning.

The experience was so sad and just made me and my mother want to leave before we even went in to view any art in the museum to come home and brush our teeth because the buffet of hors d’oeuvres was just bad. I’m sorry MUSE you are no longer a muse and I know you can do better.

This was experience was extremely disappointing. Staff was a little rude, they do not serve water, you are not given napkins, the table we ended up choosing was broken, and none were cleaned off. I understand they were busy, they’d just had a rush according to the host, however we were left awkwardly milling around other diners trying to find a clean table before I ended up asking for a rag to wipe one off. Food was good, very small portions, very expensive. They were of course out of the one item I was hoping for. The chairs outside were all broken and wet from rain we’d had much earlier in the day. Overall, I am very sad with how run down and dirty this cafe has become.i found myself apologizing to my husband for choosing Muse/Crush for our lunch. I used to really enjoy coming here.

Save your money and eat elsewhere. Staff just wanted to stand and be on their phones instead of cleaning the dining room, which was horribly dirty. Overpriced attempt at trendy food that falls flat. Coleslaw is dry and has cheap ranch dressing instead of coleslaw dressing. Tomato bisque soup is just marinara sauce mixed with some cream. Grilled cheese is just toast with cheese, not even grilled. Baked Mac and cheese is greasy and lumpy with odd seasonings. The hot chicken sandwich is a puddle of oil. At least their fries were good.

Muse was a great place to take a break and have a snack or light meal while visiting the many exhibits and floors of the Anchorage Museum. It's run by Crush Wine Bistro which is one of the nicer restaurants in town nearby so you're definitely getting a local, nice fare while at the museum.

There are a handful of vegetarian options including 2 salads, baked make and cheese, falafel, a grilled cheese sandwich, and a couple of bowls. So a decent amount of things to choose from along with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks galore.

My wife and I shared the goat cheese salad which we thought was really fresh, good, and hearty enough for the two of us...especially when I added the grilled cheese sandwich...a very slightly upscale version of a basic grilled cheese with American cheese...no bells or whistles here, possibly a tiny bit saltier than I would have liked it to be...but not over-buttered...it was almost like it was very lightly grilled or baked even so, despite it being a grilled cheese, it felt a little bit healthier.

You order at the counter and they bring you your food into the dining area which had plenty of comfortable places to sit.

I don't know that we would head to Muse on it's own, but it was a perfect and satisfying place to go while visiting the museum.

Overpriced food. A real disappointment. Used to be so much better. Not even a thank you from staff on our way out as they were standing and staring at us.

My experience in museum restaurants has been limited to prepackaged salads, or grill offerings. I was so delighted by my Salmon Katsu, im still in shock. This bowl has been the best prep and treatment of the salmon I've experienced since I've been on this business trip. Perfectly cooked, crispy panko, but lightly done so as not to take away from the fish. The additions in the bowl perfectly complemented the fish and I couldn't stop eating it. I wish I could come back and try something else, but time is limited.

Nothing to write home about. Soup was not served hot, and had to be re-heated.

Food was great and the service was great. It was a little pricey as it cost four adults and a kid just over $100 to eat lunch while touring the Anchorage Museum. They need a kids menu.

August 1st around 12 pm- I was about to order when a white young woman behind the counter called to a person leaving, saying “are you going to pay for that” essentially accusing the person of stealing. The person did not have any items saying the woman saw her put the food item back and that she only had $4. The patron even offered to let the woman search her bag. The white woman sarcastically said ok and proceeded to whisper about the incident and giggle with her coworker. This is disgusting. Your menu items are overpriced. The person who put the item back recognized this and was going to leave, but was instead ridiculed and laughed at. Train your workers better or maybe don’t hire pretentious “peaked in high school” broads. You work at a museum restaurant. Humble yourself.

Of the three chowders I had in my two days in Anchorage, this was the best. A little disappointed by the cake selection, but it might have been getting toward the end of their day.

The review is based on what we order and value. The Mac and cheese was good however the portion size for $12? Caprisun is in photo for size comparison. Sandwich and soup was good. The wings were so so.Other dishes coming out of the kitchen looked like tasty choices and better value.Staff were friendly and area was clean and inviting.

Dietary restrictions: Didn't have much for our food allergies. Food may be premade, not sure.
