This is a great place to have a frosty brew after a hike in the Chugach Mountains or a bike ride on the Tony Knowles Coastal trail or even downhill skiing on JBER, Arctic Valley, Hilltop or on your way home from Alyeska. The owners are super mountain climbers and adventurers who decided to turn their passion and energy toward the fine art of brewing beer of many different styles and flavors. The Octopus DNA is a tart, black currant sour, 7.5% treat for the tastebuds. Chaos & Order is fruity, yet impudent with a hint of sassiness,(extra points for anyone who gets the reference. Hint, think 1980’s PC video game. LL) just kidding, it was a delicious IPA. The art work is by local Alaskan artist, graphic designer and outdoor adventurer, Meg Smith. Her interpretation of the Alaska mountains, wildlife, stunning vistas and experience speaks directly to the soul of anyone who loves the outdoors. We own several and they always inspire us to got out and see more of Alaska. Thank you, Meg. You inspire us. As it is time for another round, the Arctic Winds, 5.5% is an unfiltered German Pilsner which is delicious and very clear amber. I had expected it to be cloudy like an unfiltered Hefeweizen. Possibly I need to brush up on my brewing terms. The Kickturn, 6.5% ABV is billed as a West Coast IPA. If memory my serves me, and it always does(another obscure reference, this time to 1960’s TV with a comic book theme) IPA is India Pale Ale and west coast is a California reference, “And that’s all I have to say about that”(movie reference this time :)

Great! Space. Great draft choices. Smack in the middle of Midtown behind Wal-Mart. Highly recommend!

Onsite Brewing Company feels like a home away from home for adventurers.

The taproom is near the Alaska Rock Gym and has a laid-back, climbing-themed vibe. It’s a perfect spot to plan your next adventure or relax after one. The community-focused atmosphere makes it easy to feel at home.

The two favorite beers of the flight were the Arctic Winds Pilsner (light & crisp) and the Ridgeline Shadow Stout, which was a bit more robust and roasty.

This was our first brewery visit in Alaska, and they set the bar high for the rest of the trip.

Great location once you get inside. The outside is unassuming and non-descript. Almost like it's a secret. The brewery inside is very well designed and set up. Fantastic beer selection, friendly staff, lots of seating indoors and out back, clean patio, and overall a great place to enjoy the summer weather with a cold beer. There is typically a food cart camped out by the patio if you want food.

The beer is excellent. The taproom vibes are funky, spacious, clean, and they play good music. There are N/A options. It’s dog friendly. Go weekday after 3 when they open and it’s pretty quiet. One of the better breweries in Anchorage. The Pilsner on draft is top-notch. Check it out while you’re in town. I loved the stickers of all the other breweries/climbing gyms/outdoor recreation brands they have sporadically placed around the area.
