Great selection and very accommodating of different dietary restrictions. I love the creativity like the elote ice cream and the surf and turf New York steak.

Three of us stopped in on a quiet Thursday afternoon for lunch based on some local recommendations and Yelp reviews. We were passing through Anchorage on our way from Seward to Talkeetna and wanted to find a local spot with an interesting menu. Pangea was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious lunch. We shared a Steak Pita, a Fried Chicken Sandwich with peanut satay sauce/seasoning, and Halibut Tacos. Each came with a side salad with a good cherry balsamic dressing. Everything was delicious, portions were generous, and the stout from Denali Brewing Company was a big hit with the dark beer-loving member of our party. Highly recommended.

When first walking in, I should have known to turn around. It smelled like an old folks home. More like dirty furniture that hasn’t been cleaned. The food was meh, my husband had a basic breakfast and a side of eggs, not sure what they used for eggs but they were disgusting. I had the chicken and waffles which was not great. The waffle was dry and seemed undone and the chicken was not well seasoned.I would not return as the best thing was the mimosa.

Amazing place. Wonderful menu with something for everyone. Attentive service. My honey/habanero chicken was absolutely delicious. My wife loved her beet salad with added steak. The steak was delicious. Highly recommend

Don't go here! I would give this place a negative rating if it were possible. Walked in on a Wednesday evening and sat at a completely empty bar. Bartender asked me if I had a reservation which I did not. Informed me it was reservations only. I looked around and said the restaurant is more than half empty. He told me that I could only get a drink. Walked out. Won't be back. Couldn't accommodate one person?? Shame because I was looking forward to trying it out.

Pangea used to be an amazing restaurant with impeccable service and amazingly bold flavors. However, I have now been twice since it reopened after Covid closures and we have been underwhelmed and frankly disappointed each time. Today we made reservations for our family prior to going to heading to an event. The food was all under seasoned, my husband had to send his egg dish back because he ordered his eggs over easy and they came out with the yolks fully cooked and the whites stiff. After taking several minutes to get someone's attention, we were never checked on again until it was time for the check. With there only being 5 other tables in the restaurant while we were there, it was quite confusing as to why we had to keep asking for refills rather than having our server check on us. We won't be returning.

Excellent food, great drinks. Our waiter, who was also the bar tender did an excellent job with the cocktails. If you like duck, definitely order the duck dish, it was delicious.

We waited for 20 mins to get a table. Once we got a table we were told "I'll be right with you". 10 min laters no one waited on us. Hot AF in the restaurant. Only half the restaurant was used. Skip past this one and eat a hot pocket. Slimmy floor for the win......?

After being dropped off for a one hour lunch before continuing on a motor coach to Denali, we found Humpy's the most visible restaurant very crowed so we took a walk and spotted Pangea. Had a great lunch - our waiter understood our need to get in and out and not miss our bus. I had their version of a Philly Cheese Steak - watch out Philadelphia - this one was better.

All the food was delicious a group of 4. We shared 3 apps/tapas and 2 entrees and was the perfect amount of food! Highly recommend the crispy pork belly! Some of the best I've ever had anywhere! The Bao were amazing as well! Not the least bit bad but our least favorite was the halibut entree. Everything else just outshined it with flavor and texture!

First timers. We went in for Lunch and loved everything. Service was on point. Muenster burger was amazing, Thai crispy chicken sandwich was perfection. Chef Pat is an Alaskan treasure. Can’t wait to come back for dinner. 5 stars

After consulting some great lists here on Yelp for vegan-friendly options, we settled on Pangea downtown - I'd never been and they mentioned a cashew queso that sounded enticing. Sadly, this was only one of a few options and we were pretty disappointed overall. It being summer in Anchorage, I made a lunch reservation out of an abundance of caution (tourists!), but when I tried to check in at the appointed time I was told to sit anywhere, the system was down. It was practically empty, so we chose a 2-top near the windows and ordered water while we reviewed the menu. My dining companion asked our server about vegan options but those were limited to the cashew queso and the buffalo cauliflower. We ordered both, plus a gyro for me, with the cashew queso coming out first to share. I had recently tried a cashew cheese sauce over polenta in Florida and fallen in love, but this one was sadly lacking any real substance. The flavor was nice but it was so runny, it was akin to dipping chips into well-flavored water. Next up, buffalo cauliflower and a steak gyro - my companion reported the cauliflower was "okay" with good flavor but poorly executed, soggy and overcooked. My gyro was also well-spiced, just this side of hot, and the bread was fluffy and fresh. The gyro was a bit messy, so I wouldn't recommend for a date night, but the taste was better than expected after the other more disappointing dishes. I don't recall seeing another diner while we lingered over waters, catching up during a long lunch. I can understand why, but hope they are able to iron out the issues with execution because the flavor profiles were spot on.

I haven't had a bad experience at Pangea. This trip was by far the best tasting though. Who would have thought that Sriracha, vanilla ice cream, and maple syrup went with hand breaded chicken strips.

Amazing food and service. Really neat place in the middle of Anchorage. Our waiter described their menu as all of their "all star" items. It is constantly updated - removing unordered items and replacing with new favorites. Brunch was awesome. I had the chicken and waffles. These had a perfect mix of sweet and spicy with a scoop of ice cream on top. Would definitely recommend and go back. Family had French Toast w/ homemade jam, classic breakfast, and a taco pita. All great choices. Oh, and amazing service.
