We went here for lunch and were not disappointed. The owner was so kind and friendly. We shared a couple dishes, the mixed vegetarian platter and the Doro Tibs. 😋

Omigoodness, it’s so good! My picture isn’t the best because I forgot to take it before eating. 🥰
The place smells wonderful as you walk in and the staff is just so friendly! Advice: try the tea (so good) and ask questions.

Best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had, and the best food we’ve had in Alaska during our trip! The chef was very nice and the space was clean and comfortable. I got the vegan plate, and every single part of it was spiced perfectly. Highly recommend!

My husband and I have had Ethiopian food in London, Norway and now here in Alaska and I must say, we LOVED the food here at Queen of Sheba. We ordered #1,11 and 12. The herbal tea hit the spot. The food was flavored just right and they treat you with the utmost kindness. I would definitely give this place a try atleast once if you're a local here in AK or a travelor visiting.

It was amazing dinner at Sheba Ethiopian food, we had our first Ethiopian meal and we were super happy about it.
Though we are Indian vegetarian we felt the taste and blend of Indian spices.

I first ate here in the summer of 2019, when it had just opened — a true one-man show with the owner as chef, waiter, and host. The injera was the best I’ve had (and I’m from Oakland, home to plenty of great Ethiopian spots). I promised myself I’d come back.
Fast forward to winter 2025 — the restaurant has grown, and now it’s so popular they often run out of food by 6 p.m. The cozy atmosphere remains, and the chef still personally comes out and thanks each guest at the end of the night. When I mentioned I’d been there years ago, he even sorta remembered me — and offered me an extra serving of my choice from the vegetarian sampler

Just go. If you want some super tasty and flavorful food in the ambiance of smooth jazz, Queen of Sheba is a must! Really enjoyed dishes 12 and 14 tonight with lamb and chicken. So refreshing to eat something different than pizza or burgers once in a while. If you are a vegan, this place makes veggies so much better that maybe you won’t hate yourself as much.

I lived in Kenya for a number of years and a special treat was eating at local Ethiopian restaurants. It’s wonderful that we have our own local Ethiopian restaurant here in Anchorage. Many spices are sourced from Ethiopia and the meals are delicious. The chef and staff go out of their way to provide a gracious and casual dining experience. Go there and be prepared for a real treat.

Dude this place is awesome!!!! Was just talking to my partner about what place I would go on a date night/take friends and our #1 is Queen of Sheba.
Theres a mean review a couple down about the restaurant having an unpleasant smell and that their food isn’t flavorful and that review makes me wish I could comment because it is so untrue! I’ve come here countless times and it is wonderful every time.
The food is real and genuine and I dearly hope that they get the business they want and need to keep going.
If you’re in town you should stop in and give it a go, and bring cash if you have it! It’s the preferred payment type.

The Vegan/Vegetarian food was very average – lacking the bold, rich flavors I’ve come to expect from Ethiopian cuisine. I’ve dined at many Ethiopian restaurants before, and usually when you order a combo, it comes as a large, generous platter with multiple flavorful curries and plenty of injera on the side (often complimentary). Here, the combo was small, the portions felt stingy, and they charge extra for injera – which felt unreasonable.
The restaurant had an unpleasant smell, and service was poor – the server was mostly in the back, even though we were the only ones there. Not worth it.
