Too often, I think of Mexican food being a single style or universally the same. This place was a refreshing change. Anyone wanting Mexican food would recognize the cuisine, but the flavors and presentation - as well as the variety of dishes from Oaxacan traditions - made it stand out to me. The atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. I enjoyed both the tamales and the Huarache.

Stumbled across this by accident… and I’m glad I did. The most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in Alaska. Homemade tortillas and legit sour cream. I got the quesadilla and it might be one of the best I’ve ever had. The woman who took my order was very friendly too. They have my business!

My family and I were visiting the city and we decided to stop by this restaurant, we tried the Chicharron and molcajete also the tacos and salsa, I recommend this place 💯% the champurrado it's the best, the service was stunning fast, friendly, and polite.
First time in this place. And let me just say...They did NOT disappoint!! Awesome food! Highly recommend!

3900 plus miles from home. South that is. My wife and I in the need for Mexican food. We stumbled upon Salsa Oaxaquena. Great meal, Guacamole best I have ever had. Sopas de Pollo and Tacos de Lengue were tongue smacking delicious.

Visiting from Dallas, family originates from Mexico City 10/10. The five of us all loved our entrees and were very happy to find a place that tastes like home all the way in Alaska. Not texmex (authentic which is what we were looking for) salsa and mole are actually spicy. Highly recommend the green salsa enchiladas, huaraches, sopes, café de olla and hot chocolate!

Hidden gem of Anchorage ❤️ I can't say enough about how much we loved it there - we'll definitely come back! It is so hard to find decent unique food in Alaska. But here the food was delicious and authentic, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. And our beautiful weitress Selina was extremely helpful and friendly, she let us try the sauce to help us decide on the order as we were a little overwhelmed with the menu! She made the whole experience even more perfect! P.s. No photos of food available...we ate it too fast..
