This is a great coffee shop - we had breakfast here - the coffee was superb, the biscuits (scones for the Brits) were hot from the oven and excellent, and the environment was unique. For less than the cost of a corporate Starbucks you can have better coffee in this great space.

This coffee shop, a long-time favorite with our Anchorage hosts, won us over with its excellent coffee, its delicious pastries, its retro ambiance, and its old-fashioned hospitality. The owners, George and Debra, do the work themselves. Besides pastries Debra makes a Guinness cake she offers only at the holidays. (Our thoughtful hosts had saved us some.) It was wonderful!

Such a cute coffe shop! Family owned, the two owners were making coffee and serving together! It was such a lovely sight. The interior is tastefully decorated. The latte was really good. I highly recommend this joint for a laid back coffee break. Tip: Its cash or venmo only.

This is among the cutest coffee shops I've ever been to! Family-owned since 1992, it possesses a very cozy and at-home vibe. The two proprietors are exceedingly lovely, and their shop reflects their passion for cultivating said environment. George does the best expo pen art I've ever seen, and their coffee is spectacular. I've had three different specials on the three days I was traveling in Anchorage, and they were all mind-glowingly good! To anyone in Anchorage or traveling to it, please make this cafe a priority. :)

With a convenient location to the Performing Arts Center, Side Car is a welcome invigorating and uplifting experience. Really. This coffee shop made my day so much better. With a smile and an AWESOME cup of coffee. I treat myself to a hot chocolate with a shot of espresso. It's a mocha, yes, but I don't like it with a premixed power - no worries here... a delicious steamed hot chocolate with a shot of espresso is just what I needed. Passing through town? A local in need of a lift? Definitely stop here.
