I like this place. Not full on Mexican food (coming from a Texan) but good filling and reasonably priced. They have an off sweet cinnamon flavor to their sauce, and not spicy at all. Chicken is a little lacking in spice.
Im pretty sure it's because the military clientele are from places where ketchup is spicy. Salt, Tapitio an you are good to go. My go to Birro tacos or queen tostada.
Best Mexican food in the entire State of Alaska. Even better than Los Angeles Mexican food

Food poisoned at the Boniface Taco King March 10th, 2025. I think the open sauces haven't been changed in a while, or the shrimp was bad in my burrito. I threw up multiple times throughout the night into the next morning. Laid in bed all day March 11th I haven't eaten in 24hrs. It's now March 12th, and I'm still on fluids only. This is the first time this has happened to me at one of your locations. I've eaten at other Taco King's and your food is really good, but this past experience was horrible.
VERY BAD WORKERS, WE BOUGHT FOUNTAIN DRINK, AFTER WE ORDER THE DESERT THEY ADDED PRICE FOR FOUNTAIN DRINK AND WE DID NOT GET A REFILL TOO. Better go different Taco King instead of this one.

A little bit of false advertising because there was not one King there, but many Kings. carne asada was delicious.
Great place to come in grab a to-go combo meal and get it quick. I am not really interested in the dine-in atmosphere at that particular shop. There is a smell that isn't always great coming from the back of the kitchen or something. But still a great meal up in front of the kitchen.

Delicious and Delicioso !’ Fast friendly service, with a stunning view of the Anchorage mountains. Amazing Birria qualifies as the best north of the Rio Grande, and this Mexican traveling well over forty years back and fro Mexico and Cebtral and South America knows his way around Mexican and Latin cuisine.

El agua sabe a jabon, Y ellos usan la misma agua para hacer la salsa porque tambien tiene sabor a jabon. The water from the soda fountain tastes like soap or some cleaner, as if they tried to clean the interior piping with a strong cleaner of some sort. If you order nachos, they charge you $10+ for sprinkling shredded cheese on chips that they place under a heating coil. You can do that for $2 at home…or less.
