I was literally on my bike commuting through midtown Anchorage in the middle of winter when I stumbled upon the alluring food truck of Taqueria Cortez. I decided to take a gander at the menu. After a fun chat with the owner, I couldn’t resist the temptation of trying their tacos. I’m beyond impressed. If a professional food reviewer claimed these tacos are the best in Anchorage—it wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Homemade corn tortillas! The owner is constantly preparing food so it’s fresh, fast, and incredibly delicious. Definitely try Taqueria Cortez because it’s rare to fall in love in Anchorage. I will return with chihuahua!

I got the Asada tacos meal and Horchata, overall the food was OK. The Asada was a bit chew for me and to me lacked in seasoning made the tacos a little bit lackluster. the Horchata to me was a bit watery and tastes like potpourri. Will i eat there again? yes, only to try to give it another chance and to see if it was just that day that it was lacking.

Great service! It was around 10pm on a Wednesday evening, when my teen had an intense craving for "tacos". We both agreed Taco Hell was off the table and I remembered seeing this spot off Fireweed. The food was authentic and delicious!
