This is the first and only time in my life that I’ve made the effort to write a review about any restaurant but this experience at the Texas Roadhouse on Old Seward Highway in Anchorage, Alaska must be noted. The service was poor and the steak was ruined.
The meal began with a side dish salad I ordered. Our waiter never appeared again after dropping off some bread before the salad. When the salad was delivered by someone different, there was no silver ware. There had been none on the table when we sat down. That got fixed after I had to go to the cash register to find someone.
I had ordered a prime rib medium with steak fries. It took a very long time to be delivered. It was reddish pink across the surface. That’s not medium. The steak fries were not delivered at all. I waited a few minutes for some wait staff to appear that I could signal. None ever did. I went to the cash register again to find someone I could ask to help.
A manager came by and I explained. He was all about trying to make things right. We agreed that a chef could bake the steak just a minute or two and fix the problem. When the manager returned with the steak about ten minutes later, it was charred to a crisp on the outside and overcooked throughout. At this point I gave up and pretended to be satisfied just to end the saga.
My wife, who enjoyed her steak salad, minded me afterward that the last time we ate there, more than a year ago, the same thing happened but with a different cut of meat. The steak I ordered came out way more rare than medium and when it came back the second time it was badly overcooked. I’ve learned my lesson.

Texas Roadhouse always has great Steaks. I had the Bone in Rib Eye and Ice Cold Pint of Alaskan amber. It was cooked perfect. My salad and mashed potatoes were served just as I had ordered. No matter what state I goto I always look for a Texas Roadhouse.

The stake was a little over cooked (medium vs medium rare)as well as the fries. Stake had great flavor though. Had the rib eye. Much better than my kids sirloin. Short wait on a Saturday night, only 15 minutes.

Thursday 6:30 pm. No wait. Ordered our food and waited about 25 minutes for our food. Salads were awesome. A girl brings our 4 plates…2 fillets one medium rare and one medium. The other 2 plates were ribeye and roadkill. No baked potatoes cuz they were still cooking. Umm asked how long and she said she would go check. So we had 3 meals over cooked and not hot with nothing on our plate but the meat. Inquired again with our waiter and the potatoes came all on the same plate. Asked for more water but never got it. So we were taking our family out and didn’t want to embarrass them! But Shame on Texas Roadhouse on Old Seward Highway.

Very disappointed with their Salmon Caesar salad. I expected Alaska is abundant with salmon but they serve Atlantic or Norwegian Salmon. Not good impression for tourist.

First off if u cant seat a party of 6+ then dont make it an option on ur sight! Why call like instructed if u cant accommodate once we arrive! Being seated in booths across the aisle is not accommodating!! Then u make people wait like we didn't get told our table was ready, my dad is disabled and yall had us waiting like we didnt booka table!! Most of the party food was wrong and very delayed, never received the Texas Rolls!! The Texas ROLLS! This was by far the worse visit to Dimond location! All that money u spend on a meal there now, the meals have become very pitiful!! Get it together yall! Went from best restaurant in town to bottom of the barrel with the rest of them! Mannnnn!!!

Took my sister to Texas roadhouse, we showed our server the allergen menu twice, and mentioned that she is deathly allergic to nuts, dairy, and eggs. She ordered a prime rib and a salad, her salad came back with egg on it. We returned it and all they did was scrape the egg off, and still left a little bit on the salad. Thankfully, we got help from another server who made sure that the salad didn't have anything she was allergic to on it. Our first server was very unclear and was rushing us. We did not get much time to look at the menu either.

Fantastic. We had Erin as our server. She was amazing. Super fast when we requested an item knowledgeable about the menu. Helped the kids make informed choices on food. 10/10. Food is great service is amazing. This is our new go to spot when we come to Anchorage.

Review from July 2025: I was so impressed last time I was here, but this time I was vastly disappointed. The orders came out wrong (my husband's smothered chicken didn't even have gravy or cheese!). The waitress didn't pay attention very well. And we were not able to flag anyone down to fix the meal. We sat for 30 minutes and then just decided to eat what we had, but it was irritating to pay for dishes that we didn't receive or incomplete. Maybe we will try again in the future, but I am disappointed today.
