Excellent food!
I eat here about 10 plus times a year for sure in the past 2-3 years because I travel and stay in the hotel where this restaurant is located. I don't usually have problems like tonight but tonight I feel used, uninformed and completely taken advantaged of and now is the worst time to feel this way with all the COVID-19 stuff going on. I was told when we checked in that of course the restaurant was closed but you just call your order in and they will deliver to your room due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I ordered 2 NY steak dinners with fries with a few sodas and 2 waters for my grandpa and I. When traveling Medicaid you get $72 a day to share. The lady said that she could bring it to our room when ready, and I said ok. A few minutes later the lady called back and said that we owed $5 and without thinking I said ok! I didn't understand why we owed $ so I walked out to the front desk and the lady out there told me that they charge a $5 fee for deliveries and I told her "If I knew that I would have walked up and got the food myself when it was done"! Anyways we ate our food which by the way sucked cause they were super dry etc and after we ate I of course wanted the brownie sundae like I always get so I called and ordered one and she said come up in about 2 min. I walk up there to pick it up and sign for it. I pick it up get to my room and about 15 mins later she calls me and tells me that I owe $6.50 now. Are you kidding me? I asked her how? She said you got room service for your dinner earlier and so the steak dinners were $31 each instead of $26. She said it says it on your menu in your room that room service is extra. Wow! At this point I'm super upset and unhappy and I really feel like those ladies took advantage of us. I paid the $6.50 she wanted and hung up. I looked around in the room again just to make sure I didn't miss them and nope there were no dinner menus or any menus at all in our room and to top it off no one told us about a room service fee at all when we ordered. So yah I'm very upset and feel takem advantage of. Basically for 2 steak dinners, 2 waters, 2 small fountain sodas and 1 brownie sundae the total was $83.50. Unbelievable!!! I hope those ladies don't try n scam other people and have the decency to tell them up front they have to pay $5 extra per meal for delivery service.
Ordered through doordash. When it arrived we were missing a salad and got a burger that we didn't order. The fries were greasy, entrees were bland and cold and the burger that we didn't order was overcooked and tough. We won't make the mistake of ordering from this place again.
Great service, delicious food!! Good prices. 36 Bistro my new favorite!!
The service was very good! The food was good as well! It wasn't the best breakfast we have ever had but it filled us up!
Good service, good food, limited menu. I don't like pepper and all there bacon is pepper crusted bacon
The first day there was a waiter that was perfect and fast the 4th day the waiter took forever
The food was great the only thing that prevented me from giving you five stars was the service
Where resteraunts go when they have given up and just go with the flow
This restaurant is connected with the Best Western Golden Lion. You get a credit for breakfast here and the breakfasts are fine. But, dinner is another matter. There is no wine or beer available even though there is a bar in the facility because they don't have a license.

Stayed in the hotel for a business trip, so it was par for the course that I had dinner there 1 night. I wish i went sooner in the trip, food was much better then I thought. I got the Salmon Dinner Special, which was very good, but the winner was the bread pudding. It's no joke, and the best ive ever had. It's worth going back just for the desserts. Aloha
During our stay at the Best Western Golden Lion in Anchorage, we were looking for a place to eat dinner the first night. We were tired and didn’t want to venture far. We knew there was a restaurant on the second floor of the hotel. The restaurant does not belong to the hotel, but we were a bit reluctant to go there. We decided to try it and were very pleased surprised. The restaurant had a very nice decor and atmosphere, with lots of windows. We received great service and great food. There was a good selection, starting with the seafood chowder. The prices were very reasonable and we were happy that we made the decision to eat there. We also ate breakfast there two mornings and were happy with the breakfast, too. This restaurant was good enough that we would go back there to eat, when in Anchorage, even if we weren’t staying at the hotel. We definitely recommend Bistro 36.
My wife and I stayed at the Golden Lion BW our final 2 days of our Alaska vacation. The hotel gave us a breakfast voucher and we enjoyed a great filling breakfast to start our day. After a busy day of sightseeing we decided to have dinner at the Hotel and then pack up for the trip home. We were not disappointed. The restaurant was not busy and the service was fast. I had the Pork Chops and my wife had the ribs. Both meals were excellent, generous and reasonably priced. The waitress was great and we were happy with our decision.
We stopped in this morning, as we were staying at the Best Western. We weren’t expecting much, but they had a solid breakfast. I had the breakfast club sandwich and the other had the two egg breakfast special. The pepper bacon was delicious and cooked perfectly crispy. I didn’t care for the red potatoes but everything else, including the service, was good.
We ate at this restaurant after our first night in the Best Western Golden Lion Hotel, using our free vouchers. We decided it was worth a second visit. We ordered breakfast (I think its called the Big Alaskan breakfast). We got 3 scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit (that we requested in place of toast). It was delicious, even though we requested soft scrambled eggs and they didn't send them out soft scrambled. What we ordered was good and our server was attentive.
