They sent me away because the doors were open but they didn't technically open for another 10min.Plenty of other places to watch football.
Its uniqueness for a sports bar because of the quality and selection of dishes they offer and being an ex-employee I highly recommend the chef is a world-class connoisseur of what he does

Best sky box dining anywhere! I love this place. Great friendly service and tasty food with little extras make it special.
Closed for summer break!Great place to eat when they're open, though :)
Hidden gem on UAA campus. You have to enter the Alaska Airlines Center and ascend the elevator to find the place. Actually reminds me of the type of restaurants often found at Disney Resorts: Clean, well-appointed, with attentive service and fantastic views, but pretty standard food. Yet I have no complaints regarding the food. Anchorage, in general, is a burger-fries-pizza kind of place. Read the menu carefully herr and you can find hidden gems. For example, I ordered a cup of the creamy wild rice and mushroom soup amd it blew my socks off. But remember the views! The dining room overlooks the stadium's basketball court or, in nice weather, you can choose outdoor dining with panoramas of the Chugach mountains. Awesome either way and totally unlike anywhere else in the city. Lastly, you can ignore student reviews that complain about meal points and compare the Varsity to other student eateries. They are talking to a different audience.
Delicious sandwich with great company. Waiting for the basketball games to start up again.
The Varsity Sports Grill never disappoints. I have eaten many different dishes over the years and have yet to have anything I didn’t like. I really like the way it hey do their buffets for shows and concerts.
Nice atmosphere. Had a short amount of time to eat, but the food service was quick. I chose the French dip after seeing the reviews here. Was not disappointed. Food is a little expensive for a lunch, but the food quality, location, and atmosphere made it not as much of a focus. I would eat here again.
Miss the bread pudding, seafood chowder, and Kenai Smoked Chicken Pot Pie. Menu has taken a slight step downward (less selection) from when they first opened. Still a very nice atmosphere. Good service.

When they are open, we frequent Varsity Grill because it's close to work. The service is consistently good, the food is usually great.
I love this restaurant, they have the best burgers! And gluten free buns!
Good food - good selection - A bit pricy for lunch
One visit our server's attitude was not great. A bit abrupt in his interaction. Not very customer oriented. Another visit our server was very friendly and helpful. She even smiled when she addressed us. I recommend Themis place. Just hope you don't get the abrupt server.
Not only is the food and view of the court outstanding, the service is some of the best in the city. I come here as often as possible and bring along business associates so as to introduce more people to this great restaurant.
