The menu has changed so drastically in the past years I hardly recognized any of it! I stopped in looking forward to sharing the appropriatezer sampler from my younger years only to find not only was it gone but the entire menu was 90% different leaving me befuddled after looking over ever option 2 or 3 times I gave up order a whole pie payed for my drink and it and left to city dinner for a much more retro menue im sorry to say but there really should be a reto menu that has the 9 things every old dinner was known for like a chicken fried stake and eggs over hash and the appetizer sampler the classic chicken stripe mozzarella sticks and what ever potato the place is know for...

Decent food. This place is pretty much Sheri's Cafe and Pies if Sheri's gave a damn.

I stop by this place for breakfast anytime I’m in Anchorage for work. Great breakfast skillets and pancakes. Friendly servers.

Where to start… You can tell management has been lacking for a long time here. When we arrived, party of 3. We were told there were no tables available. I counted 3 on the back wall and one on each side of the restaurant. It’s one thing to be short staffed but to have people wait 30 minutes to be seated at the same tables that sat empty. Wow. We ordered our food. My mother in law ordered the Chicken Fried steak skillet, that’s not what she got. My husband ordered a ham and sausage omelette with hashbrowns, he got a skillet. I ordered a Chicken Ranch sandwich, but you don’t actually have ranch on the sandwich. Ugh. I’m glad we don’t have to return as we were passing through.
This place desperately needs some to organize them.

Reminds me of an old breakfast dinner, the building is ok but the service and food more than make up for it. Made a substitution on a dish and the server said there was a way to order it that was less $, yes please.

Food was zero stars. I came here frequently last spring and the food was wonderful at that time. I always order the chicken fried steak smothered in gravy. Unfortunately when I went here yesterday I had a very bad experience with the food. I ordered lemon water and by the time the cup came I was very thirsty, but the cup was dirty and the lemon wedge was small and stale looking. I could not drink something that tasted so gross like it was not fully rinsed after the wash. Then my hashbrowns were literally frozen still when they came. It was disgusting. Also there was a hair in the gravy of my chicken fried steak and needed to be sent back. And then when I got the new plate the gravy was cold.... 😢 I couldn't stomach it. At all... I ordered a slice of pie when I left and it was half the size of my phone screen. Very small not worth 5 dollars.... bye bye money. I will never return here. Was my food this terrible because I asked to clean the baby changing station and they wouldn't allow it due to health code reasons. Did I bother the chef? This establishment is going down hill and it's already there. I will never come back. I will cook at home and remeber how my food tasted at this restaurant and it's everywhere in Anchorage it's because of poor management.
Didn't get silverware untill after food was brought when I asked 3 times...
And I ordered my children French fries, how disgusting was it that there was peices of breakfast potato's mixed in as if it was swept off the floor and mixed togeather. 😢 this experience will make me lose my appetite for eating out in this city for weeks.

Exactly what you would expect from the village Inn. It fits both the budget and you know the type of food that you’re buying. Of course it’s not a Michelin three star restaurant or anything, but the staff were friendly and courteous, and the food hit the spot.

Very nice Village Inn location. The dining area was very well maintained. The staff friendly and my order was taken in a timely manner. The menu item I ordered was very good.
