Nice ambiance, food selection is limited and so so quality

If you ever had a authentic ramen, don't get your hopes up. It's overpriced for a small portion and the meat for it was sliced so thin. The atmosphere is great and the quality of customer service is good. But ended the meal unsatisfied.

W&R wasn’t necessarily the most welcoming environment. I also didn’t appreciate the air of pretentiousness from the staff. Although the atmosphere was gorgeous it was really loud. Our server was abrasive and said some comments that were passive aggressive, but he did his job well. The appetizers were great! I recommend the scotch tamago. The chicken wings were dinky considering the price, but I liked the citrus breading. I wish the ramen was more hot since it was only warm when we got it. I want to see steam emanating from the bowl as ramen should be. The business lounge ramen was missing the enoki and the chasu for the sugamo star seemed too tough to be considered actual pork tenderloin. I feel like you can’t expect greatness from a “ramen shop” in Alaska but I appreciate the effort.

The food and atmosphere was great! I came here for my birthday. Our main waiter was amazing but the other girl who served our appetizer and ramen, not so much. She slammed our ramen on the table and walked away without saying anything on my birthday.

I’ll start out by saying dinner was amazing. We were happy with our ramen and steak 👌. I booked a reservation last month for my boyfriend’s birthday. I listed in the reservation that it was his birthday. We showed up a bit early and they were same able to get us a table which was wonderful. Our server though had such an attitude after we asked about the market price of the tomahawk lol. I think his name was Kyle he was the blonde one. He just looked at us with a sneer after that. I don’t know if it was because I’m native? Just the caucasity of our server. I wanted to treat my boyfriend to a nice dinner out but was met with a poor attitude from the server. It was unnecessary. Towards the end of the dinner he eeked out a tiny happy birthday at the end. The service was lackluster at best. It is also worth noting that as soon as he saw us, he leaned up on the tree centerpiece and presented himself as if he didn’t care for us or our business.

It’s a “on special occasions only” type of place since everything is so pricey, but I thought the steak was great. I ordered ramen and it wasn’t amazing (won’t order again). The non-alcoholic drink I ordered was AMAZING. I think it was Starburst, but I could be wrong. Definitely would order that again.

Only gripe was that they overbooked and we were waiting for our reservation for nearly an hour. Other than that everything was delicious and the cocktails were unique.

Sub mediocre taste, over inflated price, small portion. Not sure how whisky & ramen has been ripping people off. Most likely a lot of fake reviews. It’s a major tourist trap just like Anchorage itself. One time and done.

Jacob. Cook was great, personable and friendly. I was not impressed with the server, but maybe she was short staffed? Anyway, the food was excellent, so, it's worth it when you have good company. I was fortunate to have good company and food. 2 out of 4 of my favorite things when going out.

Ambiance and service were great. Bartender was top notch. Really wanted this to be a 5 star but food was just ok.

Excellent service and a nice atmosphere. Open and quiet. If I was going out with a small group for drinks, I would recommend visiting. I really enjoyed the staff here. The drink menu is impressive, though I didn't order any alcohol.

Tried the Hook since it's the standard tonkotsu ramen dish. I'd say it was average at best and definitely paying Anchorage prices. Mid sized portion and adding an appetizer would be my recommendation. The noodles were al dente and good; same with the egg. The broth was quite greasy tasting, lacking the richness better ramens have. The unami was too overpowering for the broth. The charsiu was alright. Nothing special in the preparation.

I ordered the wings just to compare them to what I'm used to when in China/Korean locations. Wings have a buffalo sauce option if you don't care for asian flavor. The double fried cooking was noticeable. Not bad, but the wings are definitely small, like going to Buffalo Wild Wings. The sauce is very salty.

I would probably not place the ramen on my recommendation list, but some of the other appetizers look amazing along with the drinks.

I informed the waiter of an allergy to shellfish at the very beginning AND when I made my official order. When it came to the table I IMMEDIATELY questioned the waiter if they put in for the allergy as I observed the ramen. He said he FORGOT to tell the chef and he would get us a new ramen. NOT only was I put in a potentially life threatening situation on vacation , I WAS CHARGED for BOTH ramens even the one with the shellfish in it …. HA…ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Not impressed.

Love the aesthetics and received great service but expected more from the ramen. I ordered the sugamo star but didn’t care for it which I was really sad about. I had very high expectations because my friend recommended this place, and they told me it was very good. I also ordered the wagyu carpaccio which I’m super happy I did because it was different and delicious. It was perfectly seasoned and paired amazing with the daikon and other veggies. And the marbling in the wagyu was absolutely beautiful!

If I ever get the chance, I would love to return to try other dishes and their beverages. I was unfortunately on a time crunch so I couldn’t explore the menu as much as I would like. And if a restaurant has a bidet toilet, you know you’ve chosen the right place to visit.

Atmosphere was very nice, a little loud, but still okay. Everyone we had contact with was very polite and professional. Our server Jacqueline was top notch. Highly recommend, and food was great!
