I love this place! I was so excited to see they had avalibility for my birthday dinner! I got the Wagu Tamahawk and it did not disapoint! We shared with everyone at the table and we all agreed it was amazing! Thank you for a great Birthday dinner!
Was a good night, very active and few conversations going on. But can still hear your own table. Food yet again was spot on and having a reservation makes it's a breeze highly recommend.
Great service, Great food, Great drinks A little spendy but worth it A little loud to converse on a date, but definitely had a great time Will definitely be Going here for Future Date nights
We enjoy this new restaurant. There is a Ramon I really like and often order. I have a food allergy and always ask them to leave that item out of my Ramon. Unfortunately, this last visit, about halfway through my meal I began using the laden spoon to get the broth up and I noticed the corn kernels then. The server asked if I wanted a to go container for the rest of my soup. When I said no thank you and pointed out the corn kernels after a request to leave them out of the ramen, I was a little disappointed that he looked puzzled and said one order was supposed to be with and the other order without the corn, but did not offer to remedy the error. We just paid the full bill and left a little disappointed. The server was nice but normally an order that is served wrong or a food allergy product was not removed, a resolution is made.
1 star for me. I personally do not like, eat, or drink most of what they serve. Even the pickles or gently cured salmon are not great to me. But! I think they are really great for what they do. People adore this place. Fancy mixed drinks. Homemade syrups. Pork and beef based ramen and great noodles. Very expensive for small portions but paying for the experience.

The salmon crudo was delicious. They also have creative cocktails and good ramen. Our waiter Jacqueline was very attentive and friendly. We can highly recommend W&R.

Anchorage might be known for salmon, reindeer sausage, and strong coffee that could wake a grizzly, but I traded all that for something unexpected, Whisky & Ramen. Part speakeasy, part Japanese izakaya, this spot feels like someone mashed together Tokyo street food, Alaska soul, and a splash of cocktail wizardry. The name alone hooked me because really, who doesn’t want their noodles with a side of whisky fire?
Started the evening with a glass that looked more like a garden centerpiece than a cocktail, the Southern Anorak. Mango-chili shrub, ginger-infused honey, citrus, and ginger beer. Basically, Alaska decided to wear a tropical jacket and throw a party in my glass and yes, it was as good as it looked.
Then came appetizers: Izakaya cucumbers (proof that even vegetables can dress up for a night out) and Hamachi Crudo, a bright plate of yellowtail with citrus chili kosho, black garlic, jalapeño-parsley oil, mandarin, and even little seagrapes. If that sounds fancy, it’s because it was and I felt like the fish was hosting its own art exhibition on my plate.
For the main act, the Sugamo Star ramen, a chicken dominant shoyu chintan broth with noodles, sous vide chicken breast chashu, menma, egg, yuzu frisée, scallion, and just enough black truffle to make me wonder if I should have worn a tuxedo to dinner.
And for the finale? A showstopper! Miso Baked Alaska, miso caramel folded into sweet cream ice cream with kinako cake, all topped in meringue and then literally set on fire with whisky. If dessert can double as both dinner and pyrotechnics, this was it.
Turns out one of the best dinner pairings in Anchorage isn’t salmon and sourdough, it’s whisky and ramen. Comfort food meets cocktail hour!

Drinks and ramen were amazing!
One of the most reliably good restaurants in Anchorage. Consistent quality and every menu item is worthwhile.
Cocktails are incredible, ramen are incredible, even the non alcoholic drinks are amazing.

This restaurant had a really nice staff! We walked in and had to wait around 30 minutes to sit at the bar. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable and was really attentive. We got the pork buns and three different types of ramen (hook, vegan, and chicken). I personally did not enjoy the pork buns. While the ramen was good, I didn’t think it was particularly outstanding. I thought the vegan ramen needed more salt. Overall, the vibe is really nice but you are waiting a long time for mediocre food.

AMAZING salmon!!! Everyone liked their ramen, too. But salmon was possibly the best I’ve had. And they have a great image of Clint Eastwood.

I am so glad I found this spot during a quick trip to Anchorage. Their gluten free noodles were amazing! The ramen was so good, I came back two nights in a row. Steak was ok but service and Ramen was 5 stars. Recommend making a reservation, this place is popular. Pickles were delicious!

Openly hostile service. Under-seasoned food. Points back because servers were very good at their job while they bullied me
