I enjoyed the takoyaki appetizer but found all other food I tried here to be greasy and/or unappealing in taste. The drinks are quite well done. The atmosphere is great. I recommend getting a few cocktails and some takoyaki here. I would get entrees somewhere else.

Stellar ramen and cocktails! Their desserts are pretty good too, but if it's summer time and you love ice cream I recommend taking the short walk to wild scoops for dessert.

I will start off by saying I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! I went to whiskey and ramen on a Monday night and I would say they were fairly busy. We did not have a reservation but only had to wait about 5 minutes. We were sat in very comfy seats in the whiskey bar, a mellow atmosphere. The server, who was also a bartender, was extremely knowledgeable of all the food and drink options and provided excellent advice on pairings and drinks that stood on their own. The Wagyu is spendy, but worth it. The ramen and appetizers are very affordable. We had several very good mixed drinks and finished with the Baked Alaska, it was a delicious and fiery end to my favorite meal in a long time!Parking: Parking is available on the street or around the corner in a parking garage. Street parking is free after 6 on weekdays and on weekends with a 2 hour limit.
I really thought I would like this place the menu seemed innovative. I ordered octupus dumplings, pork bao buns, and I wanted the banana split thats on their website but it wasn't served anymore so I got the galette. The octopus dumplings were the best thing I ordered. But I think the dough was a bit raw. I took them so I could put them in the oven and see. Pork buns were so dry! How dry were they? The one bite I took tasted like store brand bacon bits. To me the most egregious part of my order was the galette. It was plated beautifully. Desserts should be sweet thats the point for me and if its not how one would usually find it put a disclaimer on it. I spit the galette out it was savory?.

Food and drinks were good, but if you aren’t into eating pork, your options are pretty limited. Our server was nice and our food came out quickly. I enjoyed the vibes of the restaurant, but my husband was not the biggest fan of the “hipster” feel. While this isn’t W&R’s fault, parking in downtown Anchorage is horrible and walking several blocks to and from your vehicle feels quite unsafe due to the number of homeless individuals who are very obviously high or intoxicated in the area.

What a gem!Food: I’ve had a lot of ramen in my time and this was right up there with the best of them. The hamachi was delicious, kids loved the ramen and the kids portion was same as adult. The hook and dark horse were also delicious. The baked Alaska dessert was good but strong whisky taste for the kidsAmbiance: on par with any restaurant from sf or LA.Service: the wait was long but once we sat down, our waiter was so friendly and attentive. Our cup was never empty

No spoilers here. Went to celebrate a birthday party of two, was seated right away because reservations were made. Friendly staff, food was just the right size and wait was not long; cooked to order everything was hot and flavorful. It was overall a good meal and fun first experience will probably come back someday or order takeout from there.

Consider allowing patrons with 5 o'clock reservations in a few minutes early. This area is clearly not safe, patrons are subject to harassment by inebriated individuals loitering directly in front of the building. The decor inside is modern, beautiful. Our server was excellent. Ramen was basic but priced appropriately $20-$22 per bowl. Cocktails were delicious. Fun, beautifully decorated bar area on 1st floor. We will be returning for cocktails & appetizers & excellent service, will try steak instead of ramen.
It was our first time here after hearing so much about it. The waiter answered all of our questions, and was very good with checking in us. I had the BB Queen drink and he had a beer. We split the apps of Scotch Tamago and the octopus balls, both were very tasty. We each had a different ramen, I had the Dark Horee and he had the Business Lounge we devoured them!!! Not enough room for desert, but very awesome date night. Very thankful we had reservations.

We have traveled far and wide and have never had the perfect experience like this. Cocktails: outstanding, fresh ingredients, balanced flavors! Food: overwhelming, we didn't speak the whole time we were eating we just kept enjoying our food! Incredible flavors, everything was cooked to perfection! Hospitality: 10/10! Our server was so kind, gave great recommendations, took the time to talk to us and be an incredible host!

Had such a great 1st experience here. My boyfriend and I ordered the pork buns as a starter, they were amazing! The bun is sweet and fluffy and the pork had a chorizo flavor to it.I got the BB queen as a drink, it was so good I had to get 2. They top it off with a citrus flavored bubble. Tastes like orange juice. For entrees, I got the Business Lounge which tasted like Thai peanut sauce and a bit of spice. It was so so good.My boyfriend for the dark house and wasn’t a fan, he said it tasted too salty and greasy. The corn helped improve the saltiness by adding a hint of sweetness but there wasn’t enough corn to mask the saltiness. We did not have room for dessert because the large portions of ramen filled us! Will be coming back.
