I am the 1000th review. That's pretty neat.Location is centrally located, and they are one of the only places in town continually getting young adults socializing post-covid. So props to the Williwaw.The likelihood of getting stabbed here is much lower than other bars in Downtown Anchorage.
If you like clubbing with newly minted 21 year olds, you'll likely enjoy Williwaw. It's safer than Gaslight, but the line is usually ridiculously long, the food is over priced for what it is, and the drinks are always small and expensive. I used to enjoy going for trivia, the pinball machines, and dancing, but lately it seems the upstairs remains closed and the DJ's choice of music is usually subpar and poorly mixed. $30 cover was fine for a pretty good headliner. Bought a Red Bull as soon as I came in, again all is well and good. Come back a bit later to ask for some club soda with a lime, which in the past they’d just given to me as most places do, and on this particular evening they wanted $3 for soda water, after I’ve already spent closed to $40 in less than 20 minutes of getting here.Show was great.
