Xalos Burrito Express Midtown

I was excited to try Xalos after reading all of the positive reviews. My California burrito tasted good but the carne asada was pretty tough and some of the listed ingredients were hard to find.

I was also let down when I learned that you cannot customize your burrito at all and they don't have a salsa bar. How can you serve chips without salsa and then charge $6 for a small side of salsa? 🙄

I'll come back some time to try the birria tacos... but I'll probably stick to Qdoba or Taco King next time I'm looking for a burrito.

Great spot for a quick, tasty meal! The food came out fast, everything was fresh, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and the place felt clean and welcoming. Perfect for when you want something flavorful without waiting forever. I’ll definitely be back.

Nice burrito and Mexican food. The Horchata Latte was especially good!

Xalos Burrito Express is a culinary gem! The burritos are huge, packed with fresh ingredients and bursting with authentic flavor. The QuesoBirria Tacos are a must-try. Fast, friendly service and a vibrant atmosphere make every visit a treat. A true taste of Mexico in town!

Xalos is the best fast Mexican food in Anchorage. Even the beans are flavorful. The meats are always delicious. Their sauces are yummy. Even their standard burrito comes with avocado and is huge. Skip Taco King; get Xalo’s instead!

Incredibly Rude!

The cashier gave my order to someone else and then argued with me saying that I didn’t order what was on my receipt.

I used to come here a lot, but after spending my entire lunch hour here waiting for my food to be remade, and after being treated very poorly, I will not return.

We enjoyed our lunch here! The fajita burrito was delicious (and large, enough for two people to share)and the jamaica agua fresca was great. Very clean and nice atmosphere, friendly and fast service.

I moved here from Texas 18 months ago and have SERIOUSLY been missing good Mexican food. This has to be the best Mexican place in Alaska!!!!! I’m not even 1/4th of my through my burrito and knew I needed to come review.

Food was really good. Had the Picante burrito and it was actually a little bit spicy(I love spicy). The tacos were also good. My youngest tried one of the egg burritos and the shredded beef in that wasn't the greatest, flavor wise. Other than that everything was great.

I love eating at any Xalos in ANC. They have delicious tacos. The options include a vegetarian taco with black beans and vegies. Plus all the other tacosare awesome. Take your pick because everything there is good food.

Paid a lot for 2 decent burritos. The spiciest sauce had a good fl or without being too spicy. The staff , another story. The woman that took our order could have cared less and forgot to ring our drinks, no biggie, but man the whole staff working today was having a blast in the kitchen and too bad they just could care less about the customer. We said we would be eating and and they made it to go, so paper take out containers were used at the Won’t be going to this location again.

Wasn’t expecting good Mexican food while visiting Anchorage, but decided to give this place a try after a mountain bike ride. The birria tacos were delicious, and the provided sauce/salsa was flavorful with a mild kick of spice. Looks to be family owned, which I prefer supporting. Would be a regular here if I lived in the area.

Quesobirrria tacos are a must order. The staff was super friendly, and everything was very clean.
