I visited Yak & Yeti Himalayan Restaurant, on Spenard, not the café on West Northern Lights. There were two of us and we were welcomed warmly on arrival. We ate in for dinner. The dining room was small and no-frills, with around a dozen tables. Service was friendly and straightforward.
I had the Kalimpong Shapta with tingmos and a mango lassi. The Shapta pork was braised long and low, tender and well rendered, cooked with onion and peppers, giving rich savoury flavours and layered spice, a hearty, warming dish. The tingmos were soft, steamed and doughy, good for wiping up the sauce and pairing with bites of pork. Portions were filling. The lassi was thick and smooth, not overly sweet, with fruity mango and enough yoghurt to keep it gluggable and fresh rather than heavy.
Service was prompt without feeling rushed. We were in and out in a little over an hour. Picked it off the street and was glad we did.

Great food Need some update on the look But great food with very fast service We ordered Chana Masala and Palak paneer Both were delicious
Awesome chana masala, palak paneer and chai. Had a wonderful time, relaxing and good desi khana in Anchorage, Alaska. Unexpected find in Alaska!
Isn't the best Indian food.
Delicious!
A good decent Tibetan food in Anchorage!!!!
This is a Nepalese restaurant not an Indian one. Nepalese food is a regional cuisine akin to Tibet, so those folks expecting a diverse selection representing all of India will be disappointed.

Such good eats. You can't go wrong here and it is a business I love supporting.
This is a place that looks quite plain from the outside and even from the inside, but the servings are large and the food is very tasty. My family had the Himalayan chopped salad and two different versions of the lamb dish, and I had some lentils in addition to that, served with a heaping plate of rice and all the water we could drink. Come hungry and come prepared to enjoy mild but very tasty food.
Food and service has been amazing every time! Always recommend this place to friends and family! LOVE the pork vindaloo, lots of flavor and the Naan is perfect.
This is a good place to go for Tibetan and Nepalese food. Go hungry as their portions are quite big. I enjoyed my meal here.
Very good price and food. Not many menu choices buy really good food. We had it for 3 times on our stay 5 nights in Anchorage.
