I'm a backpacking hiker and the stretch from Nenana to this restaurant was pretty extensive and exhaustive. I was absolutely famished beyond belief and a little bit stinky from the trip. But, I desperately needed to eat something. So I stopped here. The atmosphere, here, was unlike anything I'm used to. Most people would see a guy walk in with a big backpack and slightly stinky, they'd be a bit standoffish. The atmosphere here was nothing but welcoming.The food was a bit expensive, but very well worth it. I woofed down, I don't know how much food, which took me a while. Plus, I was talking with the people from the next table, who were very nice to me. So, I unintentionally kept the waitresses waiting for a bit to give me my check, which was about $30. The waitresses were very patient and never gave me my check too soon, while I was still eating. I was there for a long time too. They still treated me like I belong there, despite my big backpack and smelly presence. I've never had such a good experience with customer service in this country as was here.And the food was absolutely amazing. I had a steak sandwich. That was cooked to perfection. They also had an all you can eat salad bar, which I dove into as well. I was surprised as to the goodies that were available there. Cold pasta, egg salad, broccoli and cranberry salad(which was my favorite), many different cheeses, olives, hot peppers, baby corns, and more. Very tasty choices and very healthy choices.The restaurant is a bit isolated, but very well worth the effort. I will definitely be going back.
