In the area to fish the Kenai. Stopped in at the Rafter Bar (located in the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge) for a beer and dinner. Great meal with a great view! Reasonable prices. Too bad it was a rainy evening otherwise would have enjoyed the beautiful deck.

Loud bar like atmosphere but has open seating for family’s! Menu has wide variety and has same menu as Rod and Reel just in a different atmosphere/location! Food was good! But service was slow considering a little understaffed and was super crowded overall great experience!

This was one of our last stops as we were leaving Alaska. I was looking for some place to eat and just picked this randomly. What a wonderful decision that was!!! The view was spectacular and the food was amazing. I split the Alaskan Salmon Chowder and Pepperoni Flat Bread with my daughter but I wish I hadn’t! 😂they were so good I really didn’t want to share. If you are ever in area come here!

Loved it! They’ll be a top candidate the next time we pass through here. It would be easy for this place to be mediocre - seasonal, little competition, largely a captive clientele, isolated, etc. But they exceeded our expectations. The KPL salad was great, amongst several other creative and tempting options. The standard fish and chips were well executed. The service was fast, friendly and efficient.

We were a party of 5 adults. We came to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our meals were delicious and service was excellent despite being very busy in the restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the dining room was a bit noisy and stuffy. It was a warmer day for Alaska. Wish we could have dined outside on the patio. The views and ambiance on the patio were spectacular. We enjoyed our after dinner drinks outside.

Wonderful lunch today with outstanding service from Bailey. I enjoyed the Mauled Mary (Bloody Mary), mushroom flatbread pizza, and the Kenai salmon dip.

We had to make a pit stop on our way back to Anchorage from Homer and discovered this peaceful place. The bar itself has a gorgeous outdoor patio overlooking a river and the hiking trail. We went on a Saturday evening, did not see a host/hostess, and all the servers were running around like crazy helping guests. They are definitely understaffed I think because despite not having a host, and i guess considered as open seating, the food took almost 40 minutes if not more to come out. We only ordered 2 items... but once the food came out, the mushroom flatbread was pretty good and whatever they put on their fries, my kids fought over it! If you are in a hurry, I suggest not stopping here for food or if you have restless kids, we had to constantly leave the table while waiting for our food to prevent meltdowns from being HANGRY
Unbelievably good food and very friendly staff. The Philly steak sandwich was so good we got it twice. It is one of 2 restaurants on site and the prices are reasonable based on the area and being at a lodge. Full beer and cocktail menu too!

Has lunch at Rod and Reel after a river float tour. Food was good. Outstanding and attentive service! Understand from locals that this is the high end place you want to come to to impress a date, and I would agree.

The food was fantastic, but the reason I would return was the service. Abby was amazing. I came in with my family after getting married. We were running late due to pictures and the hostess was so nice about changing our reservation. Abby took great care of us. She went above and beyond to make the whole evening really special.
