Had a good vibe about Alava's and the food was amazing. We took a wandering tour of Ketchikan on our cruise stop and came across Alava's and had the best chowder and fish and chips we've ever had. Totally out of the blue experience.

Food might be good but we will never know. Walked from cruise port in rain which is only like 1.1 miles. Only to get there and closed. I called and they said they are closed on sundays. I told them They need to Update website because it says open.

Absolutely worth the easy walk from the cruise-lines. THE BEST FOOD we have had on this entire cruise including in Vancouver! Crispy tempura-like fresh Halibut, PERFECT fries, tangy slaw - even better than the salmon bake in Juneau, the batter is divine! Had a fun brief chat with the owner to add to the ambiance- a true local treasure with plenty of local stories.
Skip the whole fake vibe of the pier and enjoy an easy stroll down the street to this place - I sure wish it was round the corner from us in Arizona, I’d be there every day!

Two words...EAT HERE! It is a cute little hut in the Safeway parking lot and has delicious food at a grdat value! We both got the cod and chose chowder as our side. It was cooked to order and hot! The chowder was also such a tasty surprise and was not an uncharge!
This place is so darn cute and delicious! We got the Cod sandwich and a side of clam chowder and it was the best we have ever had. We found a table by the water down the street to eat our food by the water for views

THE best fish n chips on the west coast. I live in Washington state yet found my very favorite fish n chips in Ketchican. Light, tender- sooo good. Enough hallibut for an older couple like us to share an order. 1st Princess cruise of the season and we walked from the ship dock to find this little place in the Safeway parking lot. Thankfully we enjoyed a sunny day to picnic. As we headed back, found a convenient free shuttle which carried us back to the ship past road construction. Still, it wouldve been worth the walk both ways, twice! Im sorry to live far away. Highly recommend!
