Grand View Cafe and RV Park

Stopped in to grab a couple of sandwiches to go. Very friendly and good views of the area. They even pointed out the only dall sheep we saw on the trip.

The campsites are in a big gravel lot, but excellent laundry and shower facilities. You won't get friendlier service at any café or better pies and pizza. This is our second time here and it is amazing! Also get the dumplings!!

I really wanted to like this place, but the Asian food was just a let down. We got the chow mein, fried rice, fried wontons, kung pao chicken, and the salmon special. The chow mein was just plain noodles(not even fried) mixed with veggies and chicken. The fried rice had no flavor and was clumpy and used frozen veggies. Wontons were just the fried paper with barely any filing, see picture. Kung pao chicken was ok and the salmon special was ok but the fish was not fresh, after being told it was. Super nice people and it’s a family owned place, but please look at the food you put out. Then pressured when paying to tip more…

Maybe get the pizza instead

While the camping was nice…Honestly the worst Chinese food we’ve had in a long time
Dumpling were decent but tiny for the price and the chow mein was salty yet tasteless

We were scheduled to spend one night here before heading home but decided to extend our stay 3 days. We drove to Valdez one day but spent the others here hiking, viewing the glacier and watching the sheep on the mountain through our scope. We ate dinner one night. I chose from their asian menu which was very good.

This campsite was beautiful, clean, and such a nice place to camp. Bathrooms were really clean and nice and the atmosphere was great. Would highly recommend.

The sites are very close together so no privacy at all. It was a quick overnight so we could handle it. We did eat in the restaurant and the food was delicious. And the staff very friendly! We used the laundry facilities and they were clean. It cost $5.00 total for a load to wash a dry.

Honestly disappointed

We both ordered tea which doesnt seem to be the drink of choice as there were random tea bags jumbled up in a box - but no problem.

I ordered the berry pie which came straight out of the microwave so the pastry was all soft - disappointing but not a deal breaker

We were surprised when the bill came:
- Prices on the menu and advertised on the table do not match those recorded in the till resulting in a more expensive check ( difference of about 1.5-2 usd per dish)

- when i received my card back after payment, i realised i had been charged yet another amount more expensive!! Not by much, so easy not to notice if you are not careful

I raised it to the lady in charge who blamed 1. The boss for the menus and 2. Made a mistake with another table > hard to believe honestly as other tables ordered either full meals or had more people

So whether it was a genuine mistake or a trap, we will never know...

I challenged it and ended up with a refund - i hope it was a mistake but check your bill before and after you pay

Love this place!!! Friendly services. We actually stopped by twice during our trip to Valdez on the way in and out...because we knew we can get a great service. They have also awesome coffee!! Pizza is only available after 3 pm... and it's good. There are a short trail behind the building too.

Tried the orange chicken and braised pork. The orange chicken sauce was watery and soupy with no favor. The chicken pieces were just batter no meat. The braised pork was a grey soup with scant pieces of pork fat here and there and had a terrible smell. I told the waitress the orange chicken was no good and to take it away. Another waitress came over and asked if I’d like something else instead. I figured they were replacing the first meal so I got a hamburger. The burger had a weird flavor and I didn’t finish it. My husband didn’t want to cause any fuss and just ate the slop in front of him. When he went to pay the bill they charged us for everything. It was one of the worst meals I have ever ate at $23 a meal.

Very nice, friendly, and accommodating people who work hard to make this place wonderful. Excellent food at excellent prices Very clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely stop here on every trip. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay
