Totally unique place and experience. The food is different and uncomparable. Not my favorite food but very new and interesting. It was good however. So unique I rated 5 stars.

Oh my gosh, I can't recommend this place enough. Especially towards the end of the season like now. Ash was our server, and the experience we had was so wonderful. Excellent service! Sitting by the fire on their deck watching seals and otters play was like magic. The food was stunning, the best oysters and mussels we had ever eaten. We went for lunch, which included the ride around gull Island, an absolute must if you are given the chance

The view and atmosphere here was incredible. Our server was absolutely lovely but quite busy, we did notice they don’t have a bartender and think they could really benefit from one. The warm drink I ordered was almost cold by the time it got to our table but all the cold drinks were delicious. Our main meal was yummy along with the dessert but our crème brûlée was very cold. The big disappointment of the night was the ceviche which was incredibly small, only about 4 pieces of fish in the dish and tasted like it was seasoned with taco seasoning. The $20+ appetizer really put a bad start to the meal. Who seasons ceviche that way?

We had not been here yet this season but they were able to get our party of 4 in on short notice lunch. All new staff this season except for veteran chef. Reviews were all over the place so not sure what to expect. Fish chowder and muscles for starters good portions outstanding flavors. Scallop tacos and beet salad balanced flavors and great presentation. It's a difficult model to make work everyone arrives at once, be patient and enjoy the views and fantastic food will come your way. If they could take drink orders on the Danny j and have ready before arrival could help alleviate the initial congestion

The food here made me sick. I had gastrointestinal issues for days after eating here. The service was lousy as well.

Boat ride from the Homer to Halibut Inlet- boat ramp directly to The Saltry. Very fun, eclectic place built on side of mountain. Food excellent, limited menu but delicious, staff very accommodating & friendly. Worth the visit.

Delicious food, cool wait staff, stunning setting.
The Saltry Restaurant is laid out in a beautiful setting, overlooking Halibut Cove, provided amazing table service, and served extraordinary food and beverages. We would HIGHLY recommend their halibut ceviche appetizer, wedge salad, broccolini Caesar salad or Saltry clam chowder before moving onto your main courses. Our meals were exceptionally plated and exceeded our expectations. Though everything was remarkable, we very much enjoyed their fish tacos with shrimp or scallops. You truly cannot go wrong with your entree choice here! From the flavors that each bite encompasses, to the delicately thought out garnish on top, every bite is as delectable as the very first. We will certainly be returning for another excellent dining experience at The Saltry.

My boyfriend got food poisoning from the black cod. The view is amazing and the waitress was lovely but the food poisoning situation ruined our experience.

Took the Danny J ferry to enjoy a beautiful day at the Saltry. We had the sea to table mussels in a wine sauce ? for starters. My husband had the freshly caught Red Salmon, aka Sockeye with cauliflower potatosmear. I ordered the sea to table Octopus ?, and it was a bit too too tough to chew and was brought out a fresh piece of Halibut in place of it ? it included a white sweet potato smear and sautéed spinach. Overall, it was very pleasant experience!
