Nice place to hang out and enjoy some fresh dungeness crab. Prices are reasonable. Beer and mixed drinks are good.

Very good Bloody Mary! It’s a snack all on its own. The restaurant fills up quickly so be prepared. Cheaper chili/soups. Bloody Mary was almost $25 pricing wasn’t on the menu, so just an fyi. Bartenders line up about 20 glasses and get them out pretty quickly.

Crabby Mary was Awesome.
Place is a tourist trap, but I was more than happy to spend a few bucks. The Drink was tremendous, stock piled with extra crab. Bartender was great also, despite the crowd. The tour groups create clusters of crowds , then it slows until the neXt group.

The Crab House at Icy Strait Point is a must-visit for seafood lovers looking to savor fresh, local Alaskan cuisine in a scenic and laid-back setting. Located right on the waterfront, the restaurant offers stunning views of the surrounding waters and mountains, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal while soaking in the natural beauty of the area.
The menu at The Crab House is centered around the star of the show—crab. Whether you opt for the Dungeness crab, king crab, or snow crab, each dish is prepared with care to highlight the fresh, natural flavors. The crab legs are meaty, succulent, and perfectly cooked, served with butter for dipping, which enhances their sweetness. If you’re a fan of seafood, the crab bisque is also highly recommended, offering a rich and creamy option that's packed with flavor.
In addition to crab, The Crab House offers other seafood dishes, including fish tacos, shrimp, and salmon, as well as non-seafood options like burgers and salads for those with different preferences. However, the real draw is the crab, and it does not disappoint.
The service at The Crab House is friendly and efficient, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to provide recommendations. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Icy Strait Point or enjoying a shore excursion from a cruise.
Overall, The Crab House provides an authentic taste of Alaska, with fresh seafood that captures the essence of the region. It’s a great spot to indulge in delicious crab while taking in the gorgeous surroundings of Icy Strait Point, making for a memorable dining experience.

Went here with the wife and enjoyed the atmosphere, the Alaska crabby bloody Mary, and reindeer chili. Yum. Definitely loved the presentation of it all. Not sure how the crab tasted, but the chili was delicious.

One of the places that you must visit if your cruise ship stopped at Icy Strait Point is this restaurant. The restaurant is selling dungeness crab, king crab legs, and the snow crab. All of the crabs are excellent, but the dungeness crab at this restaurant is the best one in my opinion. It is very tasty, eating here is a wonderful culinary experience.
The restaurant itself has indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor area is not quite comfortable as the place seems to be too busy and crowded, but the outside area is excellent as you can have fresh sea air. The restaurant is just a short walk from the green gondola or the excursion center.

We already ate at the Duck Point Smokehouse, which was delicious but we couldn't pass up some dungeness crab. The crab was just warm but it was tasty. The "4 oz." butter you get with the crab was only half full. That would have been enough for one cluster but not two clusters. Either way, the crab was good but not great, the service was rushed, the place looks excellent.

The good news first: the chowder is awesome. Now for the rest. Our server was in a foul mood. She took my wife’s order and had to be called back and reminded that I was there as well and also wished to order. Then I ordered Dungeness Crab and my first taste told me I was in trouble. I stupidly took another bite, then sniffed the shoulder cluster… OMG! Ammonia! The manager refunded our money for that dish (but not the tip) when the entire check should’ve been comped. I know one bad crab doesn’t mean the whole place is bad, I won’t be giving them a second chance. Too many strikes during their first at bat.

Worse crab ever , I paid $ 50 for rubbery extra dry meat king snow crab legs , the serving was very small. Seem like the crab has been cooked 3 days ago, crab shell was so soft and the crab meat was shredded and so dry. Not worth of my money at all and I was so disappointed.!!

Dungeness crab was flavorless and served with fake butter and no way to crack the claw. The young man at the bar didn’t know how to mix a drink. They ring up the check when you order and ask what tip you want to give them. I tip 20% or more for good service. I have 0% based on the mediocre service and terrible food.

The crab was fresh and delicious!! The salmon chowder is amazing!! Bloody Mary is the best!! A definite must on the Icy Strait stop. The line to order was long, but worth the wait. It’s a little pricey compared to FL crab prices, but it tasted so much better!! So I think it was worth the extra cost. And it was way better than anything that was served on the cruise ship!!

To the RACIST, angry, immature, unprofessional head waitress that talked to my mom like she was stupid because she was trying to get out of the crowded line after paying:
You’re a terrible person. You thought she was alone and insulted her after she bowed her head and apologized for going under the rope. But you quickly realized her whole family was there to protect her from your racist, sarcastic, belittling behavior.
For context:
There’s a rope everyone is suppose to keep clear of that the waitresses are only allowed to pass through to pick up orders.
My mom paid for her food, but due to the crowd, my mom made the innocent mistake of attempting to quickly go under the rope towards the exit. When my mom did this, she accidentally unhooked the rope. She was having a difficult time hooking the rope back on. She’s 70 years old, has social anxiety, and poor vision. I want to note she has a thick Asian accent.
Unhooking the rope to avoid the large crowd was my mom’s mistake (she was panicking due to the crowd). We acknowledge this was her mistake, she wasn’t thinking straight. She even apologized.
But how dare you speak to her the way you did. Instead of leading my 70 year old mom towards the exit and having a little empathy - you aggressively walk towards her and sarcastically insult her by saying “THERE’S A REASON WHY WE HAVE THAT ROPE” and rolled your eyes at her with disgust.
Once my brother (With no accent, straight from California born and raised) overheard you being condescending to my mother… he quickly checked you and reminded you that a little respect goes a long way. Funny how your energy disappeared once you realized my mom was the only one with an accent and you were facing someone that can match your energy. My brother and I are 100% born and raised in San Francisco - don’t get it twisted, we don’t let racism and ignorant people like you slide.
Lastly, when my brother asked to speak to your manager, you straight up lied and said “We DoNt HaVe AnY”. Ma’am, you act like you’re the only one that has ever been a server or in customer service, we knew you were lying. You even nervously laughed after my brother called you out like the toxic human that you are.
Anyways, the managers that apparently doesn’t exist magically appeared. They were great, empathetic, and sweet. And they had to apologize for your racist and rude behavior.
To my fellow Asians: stop supporting this place. If they allow racism with their waitress, I can only assume she’s not the only one. Disgusting waitress. Disgusting human. Ruining the reputation of this restaurant. The waitress should be fired as she clearly can’t handle working in a fast pace customer facing environment.

Ordered two full crabs and one snow crab cluster. They are sweet and juicy. You should try their crabs when you are there.
Their Bloody Mary drink is also unique with crab meats. You can try it as well.
