I like this place because I onced stayed here for business and then came here as a mini-vacation with my sister and cousin from the Midwest. The privacy is nice, the rooms are very nice. We were fortunate the first time to get the kitchen connecting rooms for the business trip but when I asked for it on the mini-vacay we were told we'd get it, were charged for it, but didn't get use of the kitchen. Still, the fireplaces and preparation work for them is amazing, views are amazing and I would definitely stay here again. Yes, there doesn't seem to be anyone "manning" the office but always someone on the grounds to check you in. In fact, I saw another post where the cleaning lady was helpful and so is the maintenance guy who chops the wood, preps the fireplace areas and also was able to get us into our rooms. All of the amenities are mostly closed since COVID but still an inviting place which we have chosen to have a training at and will be excited to have the run of the place then.

Beautiful rustic lodge in Kenai. Views are incredible and lodging was good. No restaurant on site, but a great place to enjoy nature. The area was actual cannery and has been reworked into a lodge. Great location for a destination wedding.

Where do I even begin…Let me start with the only overly delightful thing about this place was what I believe to be their cleaning girl. (The rooms were also very clean) We got there at check in and no one was to be found. There was a note on the office door that said they’d be back shortly and that we could call. So we called after we waited for awhile. It rang in the office that no one was at, so there’s that. Who doesn’t have staff around during their set check in time? We walked around the property and found the cleaning woman who checked us in. After checking in walking to the room some lady comes out rudely asking me if I was looking for someone as if I wasn’t supposed to be there…yeah I was looking for you about 40 minutes ago but you were no where to be found. What a warm welcome *eyeroll* I’m pretty sure hospitality is supposed to be your knack…but what do I know. The door lock was broken leaving our truck keys locked in the room but again the wonderful cleaning lady rescued us. The place is pretty remote and completely overpriced for some renovated job trailers. The Wi-Fi didn’t work and if you want the kitchenette that they post in their listing, you don’t automatically get it you have to call and arrange that in advanced. The listing doesn’t exactly make that fully aware. It gives off a weird money embezzling, sketchy things happen here vibe. Like I might end up missing after I post this bad review. Everything on the property is haphazardly placed and I believe that the restaurant there isn’t open to the public. We wouldn’t really know with the lack of staff and them letting you know what’s available to you or not. Which again is odd because this place is remote and you pretty much have to drive to Soldotna for anything. If you’re into staying at remote overpriced trailers with sub par service this is the place for you. However we feel we’d be better off staying in a tent the next time we come back.

I had my reception there in 2018. Bought hundreds of dollars worth of lights and wrapped them on each beam, and strung them down a wall. I called probably 20 times and showed up to the property twice asking for my lights back and they kept saying they were taken down and didn’t know where they were put. Cut to me seeing other events posted using my lights still up that again- I bought, owned, hung, and had every right to grab the next day as agreed. ? If you have an event there, make sure you don’t take your eyes off of your belongings and get every detail of your agreement in a legal document. (& you’re welcome for the lights ?)

Booked hotel through the online but only to be told my reservation was cancelled when I showed up to check in. I ended up paying for the same day booking price and am fighting for a refund from initial booking. I do see similar reviews from the past. Something to look out for ?

Reserved a room online months ago, got here to check in and they had given away our room, and the manager blamed us for making a reservation online. We were in their computer, they just would not honor the reservation. told us to call a local hotel and wished us luck.We had called to confirm our reservation before arriving - twice.Staff on site was nice, but manager who was not on site did not own up to their mistake! The manager was so happy they had rented out the entire complex to a return group, they did not care how this impacted us.Lastly, the Manager laughed at us for asking how they would help resolve it.Been all over the world, never had this happen...Reservation was under by sisters name, but we had our printed out confirmation with us, and again, we were in their computer..and had called ahead twice.from our confirmation email.....use GATE CODE- xxxx to access the property Confirmation # 351596280746We did find a place to sleep and we did have a great trip to Alaska, but The Cannery Lodge will always be a place I actively tell people to avoid when they go to the Kenai Pennisula..

I am the widow of a firefighter and legally disabled. I booked the cannery lodge months ago, received a confirmation and reminder, and even called to confirm our stay the day before our arrival. Upon arrival they were expecting us, acknowledged they had us on the books, and then said they booked the whole lodge to another party - SO we were turned away and literally laughed at when this lodge double booked us. Every hotel is booked. They told us we could call the Quality Inn. Seriously. Don't give them a dime.

The Cannery Lodge is top notch! They were super helpful in making the reservation and were more than attentive during our stay. EVERYTHING about this place is amazing! You can tell that someone has put a lot of time and love into this place and it shows! You have views of the Kenai river from the rooms and basically anywhere else on the property. We didn't get a chance to check out the bar but the cute continental breakfast spread was great. Considering everything crazy going on we couldn't have asked for better lodgings and more accommodating staff. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be staying here when I find myself in Kenai again. ?

Everything was new and clean. Love the game/bonfire area. Our group played bocce ball and horse shoes most nights after our excursions. There was a great bar area. The buildings are by the water so we enjoyed seeing a beautiful sunrises/sunsets every day. Would recommend!
