Came for dinner and it was fairly busy. Got a beet stack for an appetizer and the steak for the main entree. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was good. Only complaint was slow service which the waitress recognized and as a result comped the desserts without us asking. Will return and hope for faster service as 90 minute dinners isn't a norm for me.

Will be blunt, I typically am a pass or fail kind of review guy.This was a fail, drinks were bad, food wasn’t seasoned, felt like I had been eating some reheated elements in my appetizer, no seasoning and somewhat bland experience food wise and service wise. I’ve read other reviews about liking spices aka salt or seasoning and it landed true with our meals…The atmosphere can be nice if you get seated in the right spot, our table unfortunately had all the sound from every other table bombarding us, hard to hear yourself speak.Drinks were made improperly, but to the defense of the bartender he got bombarded with orders. Our waitress was nice and no fault to her on the slow service just was busy. Lots of places have good times and bad times, may have just been an off night for them.I wouldn’t recommend but maybe just once to get lucky on a good night of food.

The flats bistros used to be the best restaurant in town. Unfortunately over the past few months the service and food has deteriorated culminating in tonight's disaster of a service. Overall the service was poor, the hostesses and bus personnel were rude and appeared annoyed for pouring water. For a Friday night the bistro was out of oysters and carrot cake. All three entrees were bland and disappointing.

This was the third time going to this restaurant and I wasn't impressed. The wedges we had for appetizers were great. The side salad was served with lettuce only on one side and pickled veggies on the other side (??). Horrible flavor which made for a weird combo! The tomato bisque soup was ok. I ordered the ahi meal and it was bland. It was served with rice which was cold and borderline to be not cooked. It had a light layer of aioli sauce and fried onions. It came with sliced cucumbers that were ok. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak. It was greasy and the breading fell off instantly. Steak over-cooked and dry. Mashed potatoes were ok. Both meals were $30!!!!! The service was slow. Atmosphere is good. Unfortunately, we will not be going back. We paid $122 including tip and 2 alcoholic drinks. They have great potential and a great view but the Manager and Owner need to listen to feedback from customers to get to a point where the food is worth $30/plate.

My husband and I went for Valentines, it was packed, we were seated then asked if we would be willing to move tables to accommodate a bigger party, our wait staff handled the situation with finesse and gave us a free appetizer to apologize for the inconvenience, I was impressed. I applaud the bartenders ability to take care of her line up of customers and still be able to check on us. Our food was delicious, my husband had the jalepeno popper pork tenderloin and I had the new York, the risotto was phenomenal.

But don’t expect them to answer the phone… was not always this way but starting about summer 2023 onwards I feel like I should buy lottery ticket when they pickup the phone for reservations or hear the specials.Dietary restrictions: They have great gluten free menu
I live here and have frequented the Bistro on and off since they first opened. Always a good experience. My wife and I had dinner on New Year's Eve, we both had the creamy pesto shrimp pasta. Enjoy your 4 jumbo shrimp and 1 pound of pasta. I think this one is on its way down.
We went here about two months ago. The atmosphere to this place is great. However the drinks we got from the bar were not good at all, and the food was pretty disappointing. We had to wait almost 2 hours for our food which was insane, thankfully our waitress who was really kind said we only have to pay for the drinks as I and the party I was with voiced our disappointment. She said she tried the food and also thought it was not good, the chicken tasted like tuna and was not seasoned at all. I’m glad at least the waitress was kind and apologizing for how the kitchen was that night. Honestly it might have just been new people training as the other reviews I read before coming here were good, maybe just bad luck for us!

The Flats is a great place to meet for drinks and an appetizer. Service is usually very good and there is a nice ambiance. The only criticism is that dinner entrées can be a bit hit-or-miss. Overall we always enjoy a visit to the Flats.
The food was the best on the Kenai Peninsula. The Pork Belly is a must! It was mouth watering, melt in your mouth delicious! The service was amazing and I will definitely be back!
