If you’re looking for a fun, laid-back spot in Ketchikan, you have to stop at The Asylum. Carlos, the owner, is one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet—he immediately made us feel welcome like old friends. The vibe is quirky, comfortable, and exactly what you want after a day of exploring.

I like to immerse myself in anything local whenever I travel. The Asylum has a wide variety of local Alaskan brews on tap for a low price, and Kelli was very knowledgeable about local beers. Such a wonderful person who obviously likes her job. Have a Duck Fart or two, you won’t regret it. Hope to visit again someday.
This is an easy spot to get to from the cruise ship dock. They have a fantastic selection of local brews to get the flavor of Alaska right off the ship. The prices are perfect at 4.50 a pour and they have a decent food selection as well to have a local bite of you are tired of the ship food. It's also a fine place to stop in and take a load off from a day full of shopping.
