Stopped in for a cocktail and were warmly greeted by the owner. He seems to be quite a local character. Had to be the least expensive drinks I have ever had served by a quality barman .
Great find!! I got the Asylum beer. It's in the pictures. It's a grapefruit IPA. I know, doesn't sound appealing. But it's a great beer made locally. The bartender gave me half a pint just to see if I liked it. My wife got the 49t state beer. Which was a blonde eagle ale. There was music in the background. We could still have a casual conversation with the music. There is an upstairs with a pool table and foosball. There is a covered patio upstairs with a view...
I wanted to love this place as we tried a few other bars before this in Ketchikan and they were amazing. After I waited forever for the bartender to acknowledge me I ordered 3 different drinks off of the handwritten sign by the bar. The bartender didn't know how to make them and was confused. After asking someone else he made us the grossest drinks ever - they all tasted like a sickly sweet syrup. We couldn't drink them. Didn't mention anything to the bartender...
