There could be no better location for a dive bar with an attached liquor store. It is smack dab in the middle of the crew ship docks. People coming off the ships gravitate right to it and one never knows what kind of crowd is going to be in there at any time. One of the evenings I thought the place was full of guys, but it was just a group of gals from a lesbian cruise on Holland American. The staff is wonderful, and they do their best to keep people happy. Quite often, one of the bartenders or servers will bring in a crockpot full of something delicious and they put that on the table. Everyone gets a bowl and there’s no charge for it. The walls are covered in Alaska history. I’ve never seen bigger fish, worse shipwrecks, grizzlier lumberjacks or anything that compares to the pictures on the walls there. The prices are very reasonable for Ketchikan. There is a lot of local color in there too as it is a watering hole for a lot of the locals. They have the answer all their questions and I guarantee that they are very willing to share their knowledge with you. So, when you go there, don’t forget to stop at the Sourdough.

Vegetarian options: Are you kidding ? Unless you were thinking about the peanuts and potato chips behind the bar, don’t think about this.

Parking: If you have a 3000 passenger ship, there is adequate parking. Other than that, you don’t have a chance.

Kid-friendliness: I don’t think it’s a place to bring your kids. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just a place for adults.

Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on one level and they will be more than accommodating for anyone that needs any kind of help. That’s the kind of people they are.

Great bar with great service. They also have a liquor store attached up front with some great Sourdough Cocktail Bar merchandise. They have a couple of pool table, pulltabs and plenty of seating. When the cruise ships are in it can get a little crowded but doesn’t last long as most are just passing through. I come up here every year for a fishing trip and always spend a little time hanging out here. Staff is great and very friendly. Prices are decent considering it is a tourist town during the summer. If you are in town you have to stop in and ask why they are called Sourdoughs.

Loved the local atmosphere. I visited as a tourist but nobody there made me feel that way. Take some time to look at the pictures on the walls.

Kinda a must see. More caters to the tourists. Convient for the cruise ship crowd. Didn't have any food. Just came to see what it was about. Bought a hoodie. Oh and they have there own liquor store.....

Clean bathrooms! COLD beer. Happy bartender. Locals welcoming cruise passengers. I love this bar. Walls are covered with old pics of shipwrecks (it seems people get stuck on the rocks a lot). I would love to come back.
